What to do about Carnal moments.

You sound like you have more faith in water baptism to save you than you do in Jesus to save you.

What to do about Carnal moments.

The demons believe "mental assent" that "there is one God" (James 2:19) but they do not believe in/have faith in/trust in/reliance in Jesus Christ for salvation. In other words, they do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) and are not saved. That’s why their faith cannot save them...

What to do about Carnal moments.

Say what? o_O The shallow ground hearer represents a person not properly prepared in heart so the seed planted ends up with a lack of "root" (lack of being firmly rooted and established). The same Greek word for "believe" (pisteuo) is also used in James 2:19, in which we read that the demons...

What to do about Carnal moments.

Even though this shallow ground hearer in Luke 8:13 is said to have "believed," yet he is never said to have been "saved." How do we know that the shallow ground hearer was never actually "saved"? First, his heart condition is contrasted with that of the "good ground" hearer in the 4th soil...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Works of merit includes works in general. Salvation is by grace through faith, not works (Ephesians 2:8,9) and not by grace through faith and works. Your premise in regards to "obedience to the will of God" culminates in works salvation. There is a difference between obedience to the will of...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Jude is exhorting believers to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints (vs. 3) because certain ungodly men who have crept in unnoticed. Jude further describes these ungodly men as ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit (vs. 19) In...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Easy believism is a derogatory term used by opponents of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. (John 3:16; Acts 10:43; 16:31; Romans 1:16 etc..) Such people will use licentiousness as a straw man argument and prefer hard believism, which is attached to performance based works...

    What does born again mean?

To automatically read "baptism" into John 3:5 simply because it mentions "water" is unwarranted. *See post #17.

    What does born again mean?

In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is...

    What does born again mean?

Amen! 1 Corinthians 12:13 - For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. Now in what "sense" would someone be water baptized "into" Christ? In the same sense that the Israelites were baptized...

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

Grace is where God shows us mercy, kindness, and patience instead of the judgment that we deserve for sinning against Him. God's grace cannot be earned by our actions, so in that regard, it is unmerited. Grace is based on the character of God and not on our sincerity, performance, or ability to...

    What does born again mean?

In regards to the word "water" in John 3:5, there are those who would argue that the natural sense of the passage parallels "water" with being born out of a mother’s womb (verse 4) and with "flesh" (verse 6). Simply stated in that case, Jesus told Nicodemus that in order to see the kingdom of...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Amen! Good works are the fruit, by product and demonstrative evidence of authentic faith in Christ, but not the essence of faith and also not the basis or means by which we obtain salvation. We are saved FOR good works (Ephesians 2:10) and NOT BY good works.
