What sort of assumption makes one think.......

The issue/s at stake marks are the representation of God. Do we represent him as portrayed in the life, the reality and words of Jesus or do we present him as Satan would have us represent him or more accurately, misrepresent him?

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

God knew the flood was coming....he made provision for saving any who would enter the ark...Noah preached 120 yrs to that end. Why would God commission a method of saving any who choose if he intended to destroy them?

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

consider this....when Moses came off the mountain with face glowing the people freaked. Was it Moses who made them freak or was it their own inner condemnation which created the panic? After you have answered this for yourself Mark, read the texts you have quoted above in that light. It was the...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Don't you find it strange that the God who is portrayed wholesale in Christian circles as loving does not get rid of Satan at the outset of his rebellion and when Adam and Eve blew it tipping all their progeny into misery and death for eating one fruit.....how easily we can rationalise and...

    What Denomination was Jesus?

Jesus had pagan blood running in his veins according to his genealogy. I'd say he was pretty denominated :)

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Job and his friends thought it was God afflicting Job. We know what Job and his friends didn't. We know it was Satan. Jesus tells us the Devil is come to kill and steal and destroy, that he is a liar and the Father of lies....Satan is the destroyer not God. Can we really believe that the God...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

That God condones/approves of man killing man and God killing man Thou shalt not kill....6th Commandment If God were into killing he would have made a swift end to Lucifer at the outset of his rebellion. Don't you think that would have saved much heartache and grief in every area of human...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

This view is common but inconsistent with a God who chooses to give his own life for fallen man. Unless we can recognise the inconsistency it is not possible for a solution to be found.....however, there is a solution for those fearless in scrutiny. ps....re your question re intrinsic. In the...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Do I read you to mean God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son ....that those who don't believe it will be killed by him? The problem of this view is inherent.

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Addressing your third reply:- stylistically the first couple of chapters of Job are somewhat different to the rest of the book suggesting it was added at a later time. Shattan as the Jews know Satan is/was understood to have the role of a prosecutor subsequently they held the view that both...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

It is indeed a terrible theological position Phillip and 'good Christian or Jewish scholar' is open to interpretation. Each of us stands solitary when it comes to understanding truth or error.

Reconcile them with the Jesus who claims to be the same yesterday, today and tomorrow!

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

There are many divergent views....all claim to believe the bible. Unless one is open to truth at any cost, even if it means abandoning ones favourite views, one remains trapped.

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

You haven't understood what I'm trying to communicate HIM. The OT writers assumed both good and evil originated with God....even modern Jews hold this position....they wrote from that perspective. ...it was in error. It was Jesus who enlightened us to the fact that an evil player behind the...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Jesus answered them saying, if these should hold their peace the very stones would cry out. I'm certain you know the situation where that quote came from. God does not require the machinations nor the logic of man. God creates out of nothing, a concept which is beyond how man can rationalise. He...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Thank you. People starve not because God wants them to starve but because of other factors. According to the intro of the book of Job and the witness of Jesus, there is an evil force who kills and destroys and who cleverly disquises himself and makes it appear God is responsible. The...

What sort of assumption makes one think.......

Not at all...it's an option.....you don't think it's valid? could you show me where God commanded Elijah to slay the Prophets of Baal? if you haven't read it how can you possibly assess it? This is what the Prophets thought they heard. It's is a contradiction in that it is opposed to Jesus'...

If you're interested and want to understand, application is required....that's a given! If you want to hear my answer (which is not that protracted) you will need to read it. Secondly, I'm assuming you do not want to pit scripture against scripture....soooo, how are we to understand what...

....of the many things said here I have highlighted verses 39 and 44.....and of other verses, consider the highlighted word 'but' which effectually is a game changer. I would also like to add to this Paul's description of what love consists of in 1 Corinthians 13....particularly vs 4-5 copied...
