I am not disagreeing with your post...standby.

But we are not talking about good deeds or religious activates after we are saved...works to be saved or not.

Let me put it this way, is there anyone here that is going to disagree that the term or word...works, in the contest of the saying, We are not saved by works....means a religious action...or effort. Certainly work can be applied to harvesting and such but, in this context what does it mean?

Is something that Christians should do....something so simple can be a little complex when you break it down

We all are going to agree on basis of this but still is it accurate. Define the term work. In other words of the definitions of Work(s)...in the context of "We are not saved by works" what does work mean?

No I am not. The specifics are important. If everything is ambiguous then it is all left to question...no answers. So lets cut to the chase....Did you do anything? Did God force you to believe? Did you decide to believe? Is that a work? Now this is about Billy...it will get a little...

So is this a work? An action by Billy that is required for salvation? So if it is not a work, what would you classify it as. Keep in mind the question is it true that we are not saved by works. This can be a matter of opinion so it is an open discussion among Christians.

So you do not agree that this a do, a work, that He did something to move in the direction of Salvation. If your answer is no, then the next question is Could Billy be saved if he continued to sit on the couch and not give Christianity a thought and did not decided to believe.

Billy makes a decision to believe...belief in Christ is a requirement for salvation. So is this a do....a work....something he did that started the process of being saved. Keep in mind as we go a long that, it is said that works do not save you.

So we got a work by others. So is his decision to believe a do...a work he has to do to be saved?

So he either get the information... By way of someone telling, or seeing on TV, or radio... So at this point some tells him or sees it or hear it. So either way someone is doing something...is this do.... a work by someone? Then he thinks about it and chooses to look into it or he believes...

I know that this might be considered a work but...we need to start from the beginning... How does Billy first consider Christianity? If he is not thinking about it, how does that change?
