My 'brush' with Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

John 20:29-31 KJV [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. [30] And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: [31] But these are...

My 'brush' with Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Bottoms line is this only claimed of certain religious sects, to me this speaks volumes, and also as you stated it only resurfaced within the last few hundred years. This is dangerous in my opinion. My view is if we claim that things we do are by the power of the Holy Spirit and are being...

Revelation 11-the measure of the temple

No where in scripture does it say that he stands in the temple in Jerusalem, in fact it actually say he stands in the temple of God?

The light of the body of Christ is the Spirit of God

If I were the devil that’s what I would do, I’d take from those who have not and give to those who have.

What is meant by "rightly dividing the word of truth?"

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. This is in my opinion what Holy is. The...

What is meant by "rightly dividing the word of truth?"

Every time I read this bit of scripture my mind immediately goes to the book of John, where Jesus says I AM the Vine. His Father is the Husbandman. We move along in our Christian lives growing like branches on a grape vine drawing nutrients from the vine(reading and studying the Word). The...

How to debate the Bible: for beginners

Good for you, when these men were beaten in the temple in acts and thrown out they prayed the Spirt to give them more boldness, I certainly believe it’s in our asking for boldness, if it is what we truly want

How to debate the Bible: for beginners

Ok thank you for your honesty, I must admit the only times I’ve seen His Spirit move is the times I’ve forgone my will or personal safety. I don’t see how this can be seen in the setting of a church body, although maybe some religious sects can be very hostile.

How to debate the Bible: for beginners

Maybe the only problem is that we seek to save our lives?

Revelation 11-the measure of the temple

For some that man of sin hasn’t been revealed yet?

    The Provocation.

It’s interesting to me that the rock was smote in the wilderness and in the New Testament the shepherd is smote. In the wilderness water flows in the New Testament blood and water.

    The Book of Revelation, Understood?

Seems very isolated, though when this letter was addressed in Johns time this was most likely very common
