Are You Free From The Law?

Just for information: The YHWH of the Old Testament became the God/man Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to bear the wrath of God and take upon Himself the penalty for our sin, and will be the One sitting on the great white throne of judgment to judge the living and the dead.

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

There's no denying that working six days and resting on the seventh is one of the Ten Commandments, equal footing to not committing adultery, not stealing, lying, murdering, coveting, blaspheming, and honouring our parents. I thought about this, and am sure that it doesn't mean exactly on a...

    Heresy within Christianity

Well, I am learning new things about debating with atheists and others who don't acknowledge the authority of the Bible, and I enjoying sharing what I have learned to those who might be encouraged by them. I know that often I am preaching to the choir, but if I have been over 50 years in the...

Who Do I Confess My Sins To?

"if you are sure that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against...

Do you belong to "the [true] Church" (1 Tim 3:15)?, if so, how do you prove it?

I have warned you. Let the God of the Bible be the judge between you and me.

Do you belong to "the [true] Church" (1 Tim 3:15)?, if so, how do you prove it?

That your good deeds are going to save you on the day of judgment?

Not by works - but by faith

Why are you using the Bible as your authority to me when you say it has no authority for you? Aren't you being hypocritical?

Do you belong to "the [true] Church" (1 Tim 3:15)?, if so, how do you prove it?

It doesn't matter how a religious organisation used the book. I have an iPad. I can use it to watch Christian messages and post on a Christian forum, or I can use it to watch pornography. It is not the iPad that is at fault, but how I use it. It is the same with my motor car. I can use it...

Do you belong to "the [true] Church" (1 Tim 3:15)?, if so, how do you prove it?

But if a person is not genuinely converted to Christ, then they are still in their sins regardless of all their good deeds. Therefore, if a person is a liar, a thief, a blasphemer, and an adulterer at heart, which we all are without exception (if we are really honest with ourselves) then we are...

Not by works - but by faith

But you don't accept the authority of the Bible, so why quote it to me as if you expect me to, if you don't yourself? But yet you are using the Bible itself to show me that we don't need the Bible! How does that work? How do you know that Jesus is the bread of life? How do you know that Jesus...

Do you belong to "the [true] Church" (1 Tim 3:15)?, if so, how do you prove it?

The Bible is the only document that describes who Jesus, and how we come to Him for salvation. It is God's personal word to us. God and the Bible are inseparately linked. If you don't believe the Bible, you don't believe God, because you are not believe what He said to holy men who recorded...

    I've prayed for your mom.

Not by works - but by faith

Jesus is here talking about the seven churches, and not about individuals. We need to pay attention to the context so we know what Jesus was actually talking about.

Do you belong to "the [true] Church" (1 Tim 3:15)?, if so, how do you prove it?

The problem here is that, by your own admission, you don't believe in the Jesus of the Bible, but are worshiping a mental image of a jesus apart from the Bible. So maybe your view of Christ's atonement is limited.

Not by works - but by faith

Without the Bible, we cannot know the Christ of the Bible and the only alternative is to have a Christ image in the imagination, which is idolatry, because the Commandment says that we should not worship anyone but the God of the Bible and if we make an image for ourselves, even in our...

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

True. Then we need Jesus, who took the wrath of God and the penalty for our sin on the cross, and if we repent and forsake our sinful habit patterns, we will have confidence in the judgment.

Probably. When I first get up in the morning I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other!

What is it about his believing about the Sabbath that makes him a humanist? I thought that humanism is all about self-improvement. I don't see that in his post.

Are You Free From The Law?

We will all have to keep the appointment of death. It is as if we are on death row all our lives. Then when we die, we will come before the great white judgment throne to be judged by our compliance with the Ten Commandment from our youth up. Because non of us have been able to keep the Ten...

    Is Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday.

The bottom line is that the Ten Commandments are God's standard for righteous living. If we come short of total compliance with those Commandments, we will be found guilty in the judgment which we all have to face when we die.
