If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

Because following the commands of God is the only way to live. What a blasphemous question!

A rather rhetorical question for the "Hell is FOREVER" crowd

Does it make sense to compare a parable to reality in that way?

Could Christian transphobia/homophobia have been a factor in the Nashville Christian school shooting?

This post proves you are no good at prophecy either. It's pathetic that these are the "inconsistencies" that you are betting your life on. <sigh> You dullness is preventing you from discerning text that is figurative with text that is literal. Once again, you are inventing a standard...

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

You keep using your own definitions and appeal to ignorance to attempt to deny reality. Yes, "people" may have not had a good understanding of astronomy. Really has nothing to do with the price of tea in China.

A rather rhetorical question for the "Hell is FOREVER" crowd

I did not say "the realm of the dead" is not a place. I said nonexistence is not a place.

Sources say Trump could be arrested as early as next week

Yes. Billions would be upset because it would mean the last best hope for mankind, the shining city on a hill, is no more, forever dark, it's liberty loving folk succumbed to the forces of tyranny.

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

Typical Atheist moral reasoning, supposing not only are they morally superior to their own Creator but also supposing he is a vending machine God required do the bidding of his creation. Let me appeal to your power of reasoning. Why should God act to stop human suffering when they have not...

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

I didn't say anything remotely like God causes suffering. Your wicked and repugnant mind may never open up to God. Point is suffering does bring people closer to God. People do not tend to pray as often or as earnestly when things are going well. Who is there for those who suffer? Not Atheists...

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

Longevity: The Judeo-Christian belief system has been around for 4,000 years, since the time of Abraham. Members: More than any other belief system. Your critic does not stand up.

Projecting. Can you admit the minority trans is guilty of murder?

Yet, you don’t say what is wrong with a frequent return to fundamental principles. I call BS.

Would you vote for / support Ron DeSantis for President of the USA in 2024?

If that were true, the Left would not be so determined to use every dirty trick to stop Trump.

Hmmm. Nothing wrong with a frequent return to fundamental principles. Why do you imply it is wrong to review the basics? Friend, you have it all wrong. I'm not seeking to serve myself. Love is serving others.

You really ought to start a separate thread about this. I keep getting the feeling you want me to defend prophecy. Simply put, I'm not into that. However, there are others here who are and are much more knowledgable than I am.

Would you vote for / support Ron DeSantis for President of the USA in 2024?

I believe the indictment sealed his landslide re-election. So, does Elon Musk.https://www.forbes.com/sites/mattnovak/2023/03/18/elon-musk-says-trump-will-win-landside-victory-if-indicted/?sh=6c850a0328ad DeSantis is good. Trump is great. We are blessed to live during the era of greatness...

If atheists get accused of taking verses out of context, how do we know fundamentalists making those accusations aren’t doing the same as well?

Typical goal post moving. You asked for a couple of beliefs. I gave you 7 foundational beliefs. But that was too basic for you for some reason. In Bible Study a few weeks ago we talked about how simple the Gospel message is. Your reply confirms that the simplicity remains hard for people to...

Here is a story of suffering. Do you suppose a non-Christian would turn to the Christian God if not for suffering. https://www.christianityboard.com/threads/a-non-christian-asking-for-the-christians-prayers.54612/
