@soul man Great verse there from 1 Peter; and I keep recalling Philippians 1.6: "He that hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Mayflower Did you see this quote? source: allnurses dot com Clearly those who want to do it - including very conservative, well mannered, well educated people - can find the confidence to do it. Apart from anything else, it opens up a lot of scope for faith based tattoo designs, I think...

So, you two ladies, I'm not moralizing; but see this video; see the difference compared with cigarettes!

    Deep Calleth Out

@soul man I think that the Psalms can offer examples of the depths of soul's anguish being removed to the heights of blessing and confidence. Psalm 40.1-3: "I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the...

    Age for first ear piercings?

( @FluffyYellowDuck ...if this makes sense, given the experience you describe? )

What is the four year plan??

@FluffyYellowDuck Bearing in mind dispensational distinctives surrounding Jews, Gentiles and the church of God (1 Corinthians 10.32), I do think that the great event to which the church is looking is its rapture, to which indeed the Lord's Supper looks: 1 Corinthians 11.26 ('till He come').

What is the four year plan??

I do stand by the exhortation to pray for leaders in 1 Peter 2. Sir, You and I are not communicating well.

What is the four year plan??

Sir, I think you are putting words in my mouth. Scripture does advocate prayer for leaders.

What is the four year plan??

I think these verses are relevant: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is...

What is the four year plan??

In other words, the people just don't seem to trust their leaders.

What is the four year plan??

@Dcopymope I think I know what @FluffyYellowDuck is asking, though cannot speak for her, of course: it's about a perceived huge disconnect between the governed and those who claim to govern in their name.

What is the four year plan??

@FluffyYellowDuck Forgive a comment from a non-American, but if one reads Bob Woodward's books (some with Carl Bernstein) about the Nixon Administration, the way that Administration tried to use the Federal institutions for political ends does somewhat invite a similar criticism as yours but...

    Age for first ear piercings?

@FluffyYellowDuck To have it done well there's probably a strong case to use a parlor that specializes in piercing (as well as other bodyart), rather than rely on mall kiosks where teen employees without a lot of experience use the gun method. (In hindsight you would probably agree...)
