Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Truman Ron Coates Interesting to see your Levite tattoo comment; I wasn't sure how you mean that you said you were made one. In terms of eternal blessing it comes by the new birth by faith...

Malachi 3.3 has an interesting phrase: "And He shall purify the sons of Levi..." Hebrews 7.12 says the Levitical priesthood was changed; and thus the law also. We depend on the Lord Jesus, our Great High Priest. "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens...

    Understanding MPD/DID & SRA/MK

It's faith in Christ, by the new birth, that saves. "Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1.13).

@TLHKAJ Fine, yes, you were speaking of a particular context, indeed. (I was speaking a bit more generally, I guess.) Happy new year to you and yours! :)

    Understanding MPD/DID & SRA/MK

@amadeus Happy new year to you and your dw. Yes, I do think that when preachers/leaders seem pleased to designate a perceived circle of congregations as supposedly the true church of which their approval is supposedly necessary and essential, this can lead quickly to a cultish view of things...

I was thinking for example of Jeremiah 17.10: "I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." It seems that some of those who professed in John 6, were tried and were found wanting. The believer's...

@justbyfaith I'm not sure what you mean by 'some kind of faith'. In the Lord's sight, faith is either real and genuine and led by the Spirit of God, or it is not. The Lord searches the heart.

John 6.64-69 is very searching; some who professed seemed to have had a shaky basis for their profession: "64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you...

Prayers for a dear and old friend.

@Barbara The Lord doesn't ask us to know why; He lovingly asks us to trust, Proverbs 3.5,6.

    SinSinSin

@justbyfaith Indeed, it is so wholesome and searching as an Epistle, isn't it? Similarly, your comment would well apply to John 6, I think.

@Adoration Arm - or wrist - placements seem to be preferred ones for tattoo designs with Bible verses or references, don't they?
