    Mother of James?

@Pearl "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness...

    My Faith

@soul man Here the 'I' is replaced by the 'not I'... Reminds me of Philippians 2, where the Lord Jesus 'made Himself of no reputation' (Gk: kenoo) and was obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross.

@Waiting on him I love John Newton's words: "Saviour, if of Zion’s city, I through grace a member am, Let the world deride or pity, I will glory in Thy name; Fading is the worldling’s pleasure, All his boasted pomp and show; Solid joys and lasting treasure None but Zion’s children know."...

    The Qualification for Holiness

@Gideons300 The parable of the sower is very searching. How we need to rely on the Word of God fallen upon good ground, rather than anything else (law-keeping efforts, etc.)!

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Ronald Nolette For example, nurses are a demographic which is very widely tattooed. source: allnurses dot com So I can understand Christian nurses wanting to get inked up with something faith based (Bible ref., Christian fish sign <>< on wrist, etc.) as a conversation-starter, right?

@Ronald Nolette I can't help going back to Hebrews 7.12 which shows that the law was changed; and to Hebrews 7.19, which shows that what we now have is better than the law. (Such a great family photo there in your avatar! :))

@Ronald Nolette We are indeed positionally sanctified; but there is also the daily walk that should be in the Spirit. Paul addresses believes as saints positionally, but there is also the daily walk.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Ronald Nolette Thanks for your comment. It's so widespread now. As posters have said: FHII: GodsGrace: This being the case, many Christians use faith based designs which are effective in witness conversations. My wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on...

    SinSinSin...RepentRepentRepent...YackYackYack...

@Waiting on him I really don't buy the idea that some ppl seem to have that in order to "stay saved" we have to keep trying to engage in yet more and more lawkeeping in the hope of appeasing God, supposedly, whereas a true faith reliance on the Person and work of Christ is deeply assuring...
