    Seeing into righteousness....

@Not me "...And still new beauties may I see, And still increasing light. Divine Instructor, gracious Lord, O be for ever near; Teach me to love Thy sacred Word, And view my Saviour there." —by Anne Steele (1717-1778)

    Seeing into righteousness....

In an applied sense today, it's through justification by faith that the saving benefit of God's righteousness is seen. I do think that for the church it's the Gospel that is the rule of the believer's life, rather than the law.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@TLHKAJ In any case, you yourself indeed probably did get used to it after they each got inked up, right? (Whatever your inner thoughts.) For some Christians it does anyway seem to offer opportunities for faith expression and conversations.

    Jezebel

@Ziggy PS: This is indeed what the Lord Jesus said... (Matthew 7.16) "Ye shall know them by their fruits".

    Jezebel

@Ziggy Some ppl do see the language of Scripture as strongly allegorical, I know. I tend to be a bit more literalist, I guess...

    Not faith alone?

@Michiah-Imla I think it's fair to say that those who profess then leave their profession and live and die in sin, were never true believers in the first place...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@TLHKAJ Well, he'll probably get used to them eventually, won't he? After all, it's what the younger generation especially does now, doesn't it?

    "the lesser evil"

@TLHKAJ I guess I was kind of agreeing with you in any case...

    "the lesser evil"

@TLHKAJ I really don't understand the argument whereby ppl are supposedly obliged to choose between "the lesser of two evils". If the believer simply keeps separate, "looking unto Jesus" (Hebrews 12.2), and then it's best just to leave others to be responsible for their own (misguided) actions.

    Jezebel

@Ziggy If indeed they were both real persons and lived in different times, there must have been 2 of them; although their spiritual character may indeed have been similar...
