Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@Rudometkin Yes, indeed, hence the comment in the OP: "At the small local church where my wife and I attend, already a while ago it seemed that a majority of the young men/boys would typically wear earrings to church". Like you say, it's so widely accepted now; and young men usually find they...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Waiting on him Thanks for the 'like'; in any case, while men have not unusually gone for bigger ones, yet even after it became more customary for women to do their first ink (whether or not it was to be their only ink), women have not unusually been quite measured and circumspect and restrained...

    John Darby

@Naomi25 Well in a sense one is also talking from the standpoint of eternity.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Naomi25 Okay! seems like your daughter didn't go "all out", then...? :) Showing restraint at one's first ink can be sensible, anyway.

    Miracles, Signs and Wonders

@Waiting on him Thanks; part of faith is to acknowledge one's limitations and become comfortable in them as the Lord enables.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Waiting on him I guess this is a way to look at it: supporting local talent and business; first timers - often new adults - thereby asserting their own personal style; many opportunities for faith based designs; from the artist's perspective, further develops skill, etc. I supposed some ppl...

    Miracles, Signs and Wonders

@Waiting on him Well, you did really well; mine was some years ago and I still can't do what you did after a couple of days...

    Miracles, Signs and Wonders

Oops, I meant, heart surgery....I meant, I have had it, and know about needing to pace oneself....

    Miracles, Signs and Wonders

@Waiting on him I know all about hear surgery; you really need to pace yourself afterwards....

    Miracles, Signs and Wonders

@Waiting on him When I heard of big meetings, soothing music, appeals for ppl to walk forward/sign a dotted line...and then this is attributed as "blessing" supposedly from the Holy Spirit, I am frankly sceptical. We should wait for the Lord to use His Word by His Spirit in His own good time...

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@TLHKAJ Well, maybe but if for example a lady has double studs in each lobe and a guy has single studs, it's frankly so benign and widespread that I just do not see the problem... Only a legalistic Fundamentalist might try to "theologize" any objection...and none of his business in any case.

It's good to have a basic idea of how a vehicle works, even if there is reliance on a mechanic...

It's good to have a basic idea of how a vehicle works, even if there is reliance on a mechanic. Apart from anything else, it helps in understanding the itemized billing...

    The Lord's Prayer

Yes, John 17 truly is the Lord's prayer! :)

    Beliefs

@soul man I agree; I'm puzzled by so called Fundamentalist preachers who when faced with passages in the NT on subjects such as divorce/remarriage for example will suddenly invoke "allegorical" prisms in order to re-interpret/un-interpret the plain sense of certain passages.

    scientific theology

@Rudometkin Good verse there. Sometimes the word 'good' can be used in the sense of seeking the welfare of others (as in Philippians 2.1-5).

    CIRCUMCISED HEARTS

The term 'circumcised hearts' is a good figure of speech for the truth of repentance. Paul expands on repentance in Romans 2.

    John Darby

I think we should keep "looking unto Jesus" (Hebrews 12). "Even so, come Lord Jesus" (Revelation 22).

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

@mailmandan I basically don't have a problem with it, anyway.

    It's Too Early People!!

    My wife thinks so, anyway....

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Waiting on him It used to be that it was nearly always grandfathers rather than grandmothers that would have tattoos, but these days plenty of grandmothers have them, too.
