Thank you for the clue - the key to the bottomless pit and the scriptures, but you seems to be contemptuous in the middle of it. I asked you nicely, and you responded with contempt.

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

Romans 8:9 says we are NOT IN THE FLESH, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God indwells us. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Him.

Yes, I agree. They are deeper laws than the Law of Moses which were outside actions mainly, with one inside commandment that caused the struggle, #10. The laws of Jesus are mainly two. 1 John 3:23 Those are the "commandments" that John always refers to even in Revelation. I understand...

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

It cannot be independent of Christ. It is the divine nature - His nature - that is in us. Read my previous posts, especially #1 and #20.

'Death is swallowed up in victory' -When?

Consider this. 1 Thes. 4: 13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. Asleep just means we...

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

It is very interesting what happened to me. I was in Church for 30 years before I received the Holy Spirit. Many people/"Christians" are in the same boat I was. But Paul says in Romans 8:9 that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ indwelling them do not belong to Him. Imagine, my shock...

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

Strong's says only favor. What does unmerited favor play out in ones life regarding SIN. To me, that definition is where the false doctrine of not only our past sins were taken away, but our present and future sins also, as if we still have the desire to commit them. That is twisted.

Does Matthew or Luke or Mark or one of the OT prophets tell you this specifically would be a sign? I haven't read that, but it sounds interesting, and seems true, but I'd like it in writing.

'Death is swallowed up in victory' -When?

They are scriptures, and very persuasive to me. How do you see their meaning?

'Death is swallowed up in victory' -When?

Paul saying, "being present with the Lord," means our consciousness (our spirit).

Show me in Revelation the timing that it is after Jesus first comes back and after the 1000 years. I would be interested in seeing that.

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

That is one way of looking at it, but it is much more than that. Condemning sin in the flesh means He destroyed sin’s control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins. "Flesh" here means nature - our drives. Even with the Spirit we now don't have the same sinful nature we had...

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

Go to the conclusion - chapter 8, and not just the last couple verses. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law...

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

You are making the law the culprit, when Paul assures us that the law is holy. It is sin in our nature that causes the trouble. Romans 7:12-13. That is what Jesus took away. John 8:34-36. Not the law, just the need for the law. Good night, brother.

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

This is almost correct, except for having the cart before the horse. You believe the removal of the law is the cure for sin. Romans 8 shows us that it is the removal by Jesus of sin in our nature through the Spirit, that makes us free from having to have a law tell us what to do.
  16. CharismaticLady

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

This is exactly my point. You believe that just because there is no law, there is no means of righteousness given to us to be holy. Our present sins we commit, as well as our future sins we will commit have no condemnation to them. You've taken a chapter in the middle out of context of the...

Have you read the post, or just the title?

Exactly!!! What is your definition so I can add it to the vote. Isaiah 5:20
  19. CharismaticLady

    Grace is NOT unmerited favor!

This is NOT saying that God's power is given to us as if we earned it. No, it is a gift from Jesus to those who are truly repentant and cry out to Him for Salvation from our sins. He gives us power. The New Covenant is not Law, but the powerful Spirit of Christ. Paul's teaching on sin and the...

    Justification by Faith

Paul's teaching on sin and the Law of Moses was 8 chapters long. Taking any of the chapters from the middle and making doctrines out of them and separating them from the conclusion - chapter 8 - will definitely lead to incomprehensible false doctrines. For anyone to think God shuts His eyes to...
