    Paul didn't write Hebrews

What you are referring to is the progression of the translations from Hebrew to Greek to Latin and to several languages. But none of this is "J" until they change them. The Hebrew names for persons, places, or things do not have to follow that path because they can be spelled and pronounced in...

    Are the Ecumenical Councils valid?

Any particular topic in British history....Helen?

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

There are those that believe that the New Testament was written in Hebrew. Part of this maybe because people feel that the Hebrew language is more religious and wonder why the New Testament would be written in a Pagan language…Greek. The reason for this wonder, is because most Christians are not...

    Are the Ecumenical Councils valid?

Cannot argue with that. Love the history of Britain. I can only do spoonfuls at a time....care to share some?

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

There is a reason why you cannot remember... The Council of Nicea was very significant but contrary to popular belief, it did not suggest or affirm the canon of books that would be included in the New Testament. And also the word canon does not always refer to the approved books of the New...

What language was New Testament written in? How many Greek manuscripts of the New Testament are there? Answer: 5,800 Parts of the New Testament have been preserved in more manuscripts than any other ancient work. There are over 5,800 complete or fragmented Greek manuscripts. Every year...

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

Very simply all of the New Testament books were written in Koine Greek. No exceptions. Then we know that St. Jerome translated from Greek to Latin...end of the 4th century, but was scriptures translated to other languages earlier. Any takers on that question?

Again you keep defining your own bubble. If your bubble saved you, that is really all that matters. God bless and carry on smartly. My issue is when you start talking about scholars and study and biblical translations, because it does not take much study to know that you are wrong. God did not...

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

The story of the Septuagint is another worth while study. It involves what some call the King of Egypt which is more accurately Ptolemy II (308-246 BC) Pharoh of Ptolemaic Egypt from 283 to 246 BCE. Not to confuse, Ptolemy II was a Macedonian Greek, a son of one of Alexander the Great’s...

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

Do you disagree with what God has said? I love these leading questions. Of course she believes what God said, the question is do you believe something that God did not say. Now it is your job to produce the scripture that indicated each and every human being is made from the dust of the earth...

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

I do not mind the belief in fundamentalism. Like I said it has saved millions. So if you say you do not believe anything outside of the Bible, that is good with me. But when you mention scholars...you are outside of the Bible. It has always been that people want to stand within the covers of...

No fair!!! Who can disagree with that!

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

You are correct it was the Septuagint. A good study in its own.

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

How fast the scriptures were translated into different languages is a worthy study. Look at the churches in North Africa, would they want a Bible in their language...Still in that period, Greek is the common language until Latin replaced it.

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

Is reality a speculation for you? ...Easy enough to do, a little drink here and there...If you disagree then produce evidence of a Hebrew manuscript. Or admit that you cannot. I am just asking for one...Hebrews. Again, easy enough to look up...examples and even pictures of manuscripts are easily...

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

There is a question raised in the thread about Hebrews; about if Matthew and Hebrews were writing in Hebrew and or Aramaic. 1. Of the oldest texts we have for the New Testament….they are all Koine Greek with sprinkles of Aramaic expressions. All books of the New Testaments. 2. Most scholars...

    Paul didn't write Hebrews

Hebrews Once again we visit the topic of Christian history. For the Protestants this is nearly an irrelevant point. Fundamentalism is a concept born of the desire to stay true to the scriptures and only the scriptures. I still say, what is wrong with that? Until Protestants want to comment on...
