Thanks to all who voted in the poll, which closed yesterday! While the 'Never' option got the highest votes at 25, yet 21 votes in total preferred other options. Shows that there is a great variety of views... (Rather than prolong this thread, which has provided for an interesting discussion...

Baffles me also...o_O What I think is that our friend i) does not like tattoos, and so ii) probably wants to discredit ink by lumping it together with something emotive. (Something like that, anyway...)

Well, your dear niece is entitled to her opinion. :) (Even the Bible has passages such as Ezekiel 16.12, where the Lord Himself figuratively gives earring to Zion. Ear piercing is also part of the latent word imagery of Psalm 40, where the Psalmist says Messianically 'Mine ears hast thou...

No; of course not! but I've used the comparison before, in the abstract... :)

Polygamy and faith based tattoos are somewhat apples and oranges, I would have thought. If someone has a faith based tattoo used in witness, to give him or her a hard time because of polygamy would not be logical in my humble opinion.
