    Curious George (Carlin Style)

You really don’t see the applicability of Romans 13:1 to the realm of politics / government? All government involves politics.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

You think true Christianity preaches something that it doesn’t. That’s an education problem combined with a heart issue. *** “Love your neighbor as you love yourself” isn’t “concern yourself only with the hereafter”.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

Have you considered that sometimes God gives rebellious people the rebellious leaders that they deserve? There’s only one perfect government - the Messiah’s.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

Thanks. That’s not what true Christianity preaches.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

And you equate not worrying about worldly matters (in the context of politics) with preaching that Christians are to only concern themselves with the hereafter. Right?

    Their kingdom

Another member of the forum has me thinking about trinitarianism, and I don’t think about trinitarianism without thinking about the architects of trinitarianism. Consider this from one of the major figures in the formation of trinitarian dogma: ”The mind ascends to God not through the...

    Still the same

From my X / Twitter “For you” feed this evening - “The Nicene Creed has united Christians for over 1,700 years.” (Josh Barzon) https://x.com/joshuabarzon/status/1991929606887071753?s=61

Thanks. Just to be clear, you think the passage says Christians are not to worry about worldly matters. Right?

What passage of scripture are you alluding to? It does matter. Without civil government there would be lawlessness and chaos.

    Their kingdom

I stand by what I wrote. A non-Jewish Messiah is an obvious counterfeit, having not been sent by God and no ability to save.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

I have a humorous “slogan story” but I’ll save it for another time. (I shared it in a meeting with a “Christian” government leader and he did everything in his power thereafter to harm me. Unfortunately for him, I had in my possession a hand written document “buried on the farm” that one of his...

    Their kingdom

The Messiah couldn’t have been born in any other culture. He had to be a descendant of King David and from the tribe of Judah.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

Why would Christian leaders be interested in holding pagan Roman government leaders accountable for their anti-Christian actions? How would they even go about doing such a thing? *** Thinking about the limited interaction between the Messiah and the pagan government he lived under.

    Curious George (Carlin Style)

The biblical purpose of preaching the gospel isn’t, and never has been, ”to make peasants content with their discontentment.” However, that’s not to deny that there are some who have preached the gospel for ulterior reasons.

    Still the same

I find that Church history confirms the accuracy of your statement. Yes. It is God’s gospel, the gospel of the kingdom, the word preached by the Messiah and the apostles. That, to me, is the only thing controversial in your post. I’m a Jewish monotheist who believes that Jesus of Nazareth is...

    How do you cope?

I worked for the state (as a civil / environmental engineer) for over 30 years. It‘s a mixture of good and evil. I was occasionally ordered (by “Christians”) to do evil things. On those occasions, I refused and paid the price for doing so. I was able to do much good for my fellow man in my position.
