Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

PS: @justbyfaith As regards the tattoo theme of the thread, it's interesting that, regardng the poster that I quoted, she said: "obviously I do sit on the other side because I have a tattoo , but I did look through scripture and reflect on it before I got one". If a fellow Christian says s/he...

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

In the Psalms - especially Psalm 119, where the word 'law' is clearly used interchangeably with others such as 'word', it seems good to me to understand it in the sense of the vehicle for the reception of revelation into the heart of the sinner. I don't see that the church is ever, or ever has...

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

I guess also I would say as a dispensationalist is that as per 1 Corinthians 10.32 I am not seeing the law as for the church. The law was strongly linked with Israel; whereas the promise to Abraham came before the giving of the law to Israel; and it's that promise which is still applicable now...

Warnings to the churches about gaining eternal death

I myself do appreciate that the Calvinist Perseverance of the Saints does follow logically from the previous propostions, but really it's the Scripture passages which underlie the various Calvinist propositions rather than the abstract logic itself that strengthen me and challenge me.

Good verses there that you quoted. I think it's also significant that the priesthood was changed and this must mean that the law was changed also. Also it is by a better covenant that we approach God now; we are now in an era where what we have is truly better than the law. Hebrews 7 seems very...

Warnings to the churches about gaining eternal death

I find it hard to read Romans 8 and yet to think that I and other readers, trusting what it says, can or should yet feel doubtful about salvation and eternal security.

Indeed so. The Epistle to the Hebrews also says that the law was changed and what we have now is better than the law. (Hebrews 7.12; Hebrews 7.19)

Warnings to the churches about gaining eternal death

I like to stick to clear promises such as in Romans 8.38-39. :)

Poll: Best age for first tattoo?

It needs to be with a balance of Old and New Testament precepts; there are many things in the Old that are not carried forward into the New. I don't think I have ever said people ought to get a tattoo; it's just clear that many faith based designs are widely used by Christians as proven...

Thank-you for your comment! As per Leviticus 19, would owners and workers at barber shops be least in the kingdom because they shave people's beards? As a dispensationalist I would say that it's the Gospel rather than the law that is the rule of the New Testament believer's life.

@justbyfaith back a bit you said: Seems that Christians frequently use tattoo parlor services today, don't they?

Why Do You Go/or not go to Church?

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9.23
