    Who managed to quit smoking?

It's good to know that people can quit; although I don't believe in 'beating up' on people who do still smoke.

Sounds like Ms. D. has been sensible for so many years. (It used to be that huge numbers of women smoked several decades back.)

Interesting that John 6 speaks both of Divine sovereignty and human responsibility.

    Spirit Of Adoption

Romans 8 is another wonderful passage that speaks of the Spirit of Adoption, and the doctrinal implications of the truth surrounding Him.

    Soul and Spirit

@Mayflower FYI: Good verse in the King James: "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5.23)

Saw this quote: answers dot com I think it's fine that some parents don't like earrings for young men. In the end once sons get to a certain age they have to make their own decision, though.

I think passages such as Ephesians 2 and John 6 are good to study thoroughly before voicing opinions on what Calvinism supposedly is.
