Interesting; and it's good to go back to the Word and enjoy the same passage again. I remember a sermon given years ago on: 'I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction' (Isaiah 48.10).

His Scripture expositions are truly heartfelt. I like the story about Spurgeon showing visitors around the Metropolitan Tabernacle, and when they came to the room where prayer meetings were held, he said: 'This is the boiler room!' (where the power lies...)

It's really good and important to feed on the Word day by day, prayerfully. Good to make sure we have direct time in the Word itself also, and not only commentary.

It's good to seek to be obedient to Scripture. Acts 2.41-42 is an excellent pattern.

We have a conscience, right? and Hebrews 9.14 for the believer assures that the conscience can be cleansed.
