WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

There is a book that describes anarchy as being in reality totalitarian in its attitudes and reflexes, very different from the ordered liberty of God's Word.

    The Coming Great Apostasy

That's how it goes... :) This how it goes... :)

Poll - Tattooing: from male military and biker ethos...to viable witness means for both genders?

Yes, wrist and ankle areas do seem to make for skin canvas to many Christians who decide to get their Bible references/phrases/verses tattooed, don't they? The young lady that my wife and I talked to with the whole of John 3.16 inked on her skin had it on her wrist area: for quite a long verse...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Remember also that what to some ppl is angry and harsh, to others is par of the course in day to day discourse. (I have lived outside North America... :).) I do take you point about the need for civil discourse, yes.

@Lady Crosstalk PS: Do you happen to have/ know any family or friends with faith based tattoos?

    The Coming Great Apostasy

The way it works up here is that if you criticize one side, this is being reactionary; if the same criticisms are made about the other side, this is being progressive. :) Canadian politeness is very nuanced.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

    In everything, care and moderation.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

The rest principle in Creation exists, but this is very different from the ceremonial Jewish Sabbath. Such a lot was changed by the fact that the Lord Jesus rose again in fulfilment of the Feast of Firstfruits.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Peter's vision in Acts is relevant with regard to foods no longer to be seen as unclean.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

    Well, exactly.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Good that the pilgrim church will not pass through the Great Tribulation of Matthew 24.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Galatians is a very pivotal Epistle in this respect. The New Testament believer is truly under grace, not law.

Poll - Tattooing: from male military and biker ethos...to viable witness means for both genders?

PS: @Lady Crosstalk Your cautions are spot on. The sort of parental advice that young Christians — I guess, especially women, nowadays — should be getting at 18 onwards when the inking experience (sometimes faith based) so often looms is: 'You're a woman (man) now; be wary of "feel good"...

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

@Lady Crosstalk I just cannot understand professing Christians who seem to want to set aside the glorious, comforting truth of the Rapture of the church, merely because it's not something fashionable perhaps.

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

Might have been someone else who said this; I don't know. Though I do have strong views about baptism...(Acts 2.41...)

Poll - Tattooing: from male military and biker ethos...to viable witness means for both genders?

I agree; this is why I suggested that in inking as an experience the "use well" factor should definitely supersede any "feel good" factor. (I'm sure you agree, right?)

WHY ARE MANY OF US STILL HERE?

The law was changed (Hebrews 7.12). The old Levitical system of tithing went out with it, even though generosity in giving certainly did not.

Sometimes the thaw comes only after several "attempts"...

Poll - Tattooing: from male military and biker ethos...to viable witness means for both genders?

It can be over-done. Given its prevalence among Christians (e.g., post #424, above), especially women, I guess the operative factor is as something to "use well" rather than as a "feel good" factor. That is, doing it is something to "use well", rather than to "feel good". :) (Though I suppose...
