Thoughts, folks? (I don't smoke. I know that years ago some preachers would smoke, sometimes to get relief from arthritis, etc.)

We have the Word of God to guide us, too, as the Spirit gives understanding. Being under grace to Christ is an immense privilege which should encourage us in obedient, holy living. Take care.

MH: But: Hebrews 11 says: 'He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.' So people have no real excuse, because God has graciously left His Word to illuminate those who diligently seek Him.

Following righteousness out of love for Christ, and being under the Old Testament law are distinct. See the various quotes from Paul, above.

I'm not saying go sin. In fact, Paul says, 'Shall we sin, that grace may abound? God forbid!' My point is that the New Testament believer is under grace, not the law, as Paul clearly also says, as quoted above.

Romans 6.14: "Ye are not under the law, but under grace". Galatians 3.24 & 25: "The law was out schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."

Well I'm not JW, either, and I wouldn't recommend the 'New World'. I'll stick to my King James, where the Lord Jesus is honored as God. (Other versions do, too, but the 'New World' in a lot of places doesn't.)
