The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Not many Muslims in the circles that I move in so there's that... If I can understand the animosity that my kids face and where it comes from all the better for me.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

To enable me to understand and engage with Christians better, what I've realised in the short time that I've been here is that UK Christians are more "Cafe Christians." In other words they identify as Christian but don't really believe it. Conversely most people here take it very seriously...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I should have said different varieties of Christianity

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I never had the desire to serve my country in that way... I don't really like the set up in the UK.... I'm anti-monarchy for starters and I hate the class system.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I'm here to learn about Christianity and hopefully make some friends along the way. There's different reasons why people's faith weakens, it's up to them to come to their own conclusions.... You persuade people to follow Jesus. I don't.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

My dad served on HMS Birmingham during the war mostly escorting troops. I have a great photo of him on deck with his shipmates. I'm just offering a different view. I'm not here to persuade anyone about anything. Doesn't bother me what anybody believes as long as their beliefs don't harm others.

No, I don't think so. What's it about?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

God told Eve that she would "die in the day" if she ate from the tree of knowledge. The serpent told Eve that she "surely wouldn't die."

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I'm asking someone who does believe they existed.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Ok, in that case who was truthful to Eve, God or the serpent?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

The Bible is the Bible, it's what we're stuck with whether things have been lost in translation or not. It's the collection of books that you're pinning your hopes on. If some parts are inaccurate, then how do you decide what is correct? People tend to take the parts of the Bible that they like...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I don't believe in the story of Adam and Eve so it does matter. If they never existed then there's nothing to be saved from.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I don't really know what building up you're referring to? What do you mean by neutral? I have no opinion on you as a human being, I don't really know you well enough. I have an opinion on your religion and am asking you specific questions to work out what it is that you actually believe...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I don't remember putting you down at any point, I was just being honest. I'm interested because early Christians promoted the idea that Satan used the serpent in the garden of Eden and was wondering what your thoughts are.

I don't believe in the devil either but as a matter of interest, do you believe that the serpent that spoke to Eve was the devil?
