I understand. Thank you for telling me. I would like to add one of the links that explains the ACTS prayer model back in because I believe that it is very helpful. Would that be ok for me to do? (I'll make it the shortest one). Or I could just add the link to the word ACTS that's still there in...

Hello again @Riven, one last thing to consider too (on the topic of prayer and thanksgiving) is this, Romans 8 28 We know that God causes ~all things~ to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. IOW, in short order (or perhaps...

Hello Riven, here is a four-part teaching series that may interest you, because it's specifically made to help new believers with their new lives in Christ/their new "walk" as Christians. It's called, Spiritual Boot Camp, and it's free to listen to and/or read online. This series takes a close...

None. God bless you!! --Papa Smurf p.s. - thanks too, for the Know the Bible link. Interesting :Hnds

Hello RepentingChristian, even though we, who are in Christ, have been given a new nature with new desires by God .. e.g. Ezekiel 36:26-27; John 3:3; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4-5, 10; 2 Corinthians 5:17, our old nature, though subdued and pushed into the background now, continues to rear its ugly head...

Hello @newnature, thank you, that was all very nicely done/very well-written :thumbsupx1 You quoted Scripture throughout most of it (which I loved) and you did a great job of weaving it into the story too (so to speak) :clmSmlx My one suggestion would be to include all of the Scripture...

The Apostle John gave instructions to Christians of all levels of maturity in the faith (and he even included himself in the mix this time ... please see the pronouns below, in bold), about what we, as believers, need to do to be forgiven of our ongoing sins. 1 John 1 (NASB 95') 9 If we confess...

Hello Arkange, that's certainly a HUGE part of our being saved and receiving eternal life from God, both the Incanation and the Cross, that is  However, if His death and shed blood, which pays the required price for our redemption and the forgiveness of our sins .. e.g. Romans 5:8-10...

Hello NotTheRock, prior to the Lord Jesus' birth an angel from God told Joseph the following about His purpose in coming here, Matthew 1 21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” I believe that our salvation from sin...

Hello ProverbsInPink, why do you say that/what do you mean, specifically :IDK: Thanks :clmSmlx I think John 1 certainly gives us insight into "Who" is the "Word" of God (who and what He truly is). However, I don't believe that John 1 is attempting to say that Jesus in the Word of God in the...

Hello Sheri, I noticed that you are a new member so I thought that I should say, welcome to CB.com :ntmetu Also, thank you for posting the passage from James that is so vtial to understand whenever the topic of sola fide is being discussed :thumbsupx1 God bless you!! --Papa Smurf p.s. - you...

No ... e.g. Matthew 7:21-23. --Papa Smurf p.s. - Holiness (or better, our personal pursuit of holiness) in this life will ~not~ get us into the Kingdom. However, those of us who have been quickened/born again, redeemed and saved by God will certainly pursue holiness (~because~ they we been...

Hello again Ned, noted! It was a bit long, admittedly, but it was what I believe that I needed to say to be understood. That said, here is the part of my last post that I was most interested in hearing back from you about. I don't see the connection (that you apparently do) between the two...

Hello again Nedsk, while I have certainly heard many say that the works that we end up doing as Christians are the fruit of/result from God changing us and saving us, I don't ever remember hearing/reading a discussion or study or sermon about not having a choice in the matter (in regard to...

Hello again GodsGrace, maybe I'm not as much of a problem as I assumed that I was (concerning my lack of knowledge about Ai, that is). I find all of this not only odd, but quite frankly, a bit disturbing, as well. I'm pretty sure that this cannot possibly be true, but it almost feels like Ai is...

Thanks @ProverbsInPink, I need to spend a little time learning more about Ai searches, as I'm certain that I'm part of the problem because I haven't. Still, it seems to me that results from the old-school type of internet searches resulted in conclusions that were far more similar to one another...

Hello again @ProverbsInPink, I'm not saying that I do not trust your Ai's findings, but I thought that I'd go and have a look for myself, just to make sure. So, I did a search on my Edge browser and guess what popped up as the top entry in my search, that's right, you guessed it, Google Ai ;)...

Hello GodsGrace, yes, the Council of Nicea was valid IMHO, my point was that decisions concerning the makeup and establishment of the Biblical Canon were not discussed there, that's all. As I said in my last post,

Hello ProverbsInPink, I'm fairly certain that it was several regional councils that defined the 73 Book Canon of the Catholic Church, the first being in Rome (382 AD), then in the cities of Hippo, Carthage, & Florance (who all affirmed the same 73 Books set down by the Council of Rome, I think)...

Hello Arkange, can the Bible make mistakes? Well, only if its Author can! That said, we hold the original manuscripts (or autographs) to be the wholly infallible and inerrant word of God Himself. I recommend watching the following movie/documentary about this topic. The cast is made up of...
