Paul wasn’t hoping, he knew exactly what he was talking about. The problem is that the rapture heresy is so ingrained in churches today that people ignore what is written and twist it to fit their doctrine.

The death of the body happens to everyone. The question is whether or not a person is taken out of this world prior to the death of the body or whether a person stays in this body when it dies.

I agree, it’s literal weeks but I say it was 70 literal weeks that started when Jesus ministry started and ended at Pentecost.

The first death is the condition we inherited from Adam. The second death is the death of the body. Before the cross, it was like the rich man and Lazarus. After the cross the believer is translated from this world to heaven. A nonbeliever is cast into the lake of fire.

It’s set up as an equation: 1 day = 1000 years. We already know the time span being described is 1 day. The next step is to determine what the 1000 represents in the Bible.
