Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

What is? Even if that were true, it doesn't change the fact that there isn't enough genetic diversity. To be clear, all of the evidence points in the direction of our ancestors living much shorter lives than us due to the lack of modern medicine, tribal violence, predators, etc.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

If the flood did occur, we would find evidence of it. Especially if it only happened just a few thousand years ago. I remain open to such evidence, however. I don't know any geneticist that would conclude that two people are enough for the long term survival of a species. We know the...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

A forensic faith based on what Jesus believed to be true. But we have actual geological evidence today that proves np worldwide flood ever occurred. We know now that the story of Eden could not be true because two human beings aren't enough to start a civilization. There's simply not enough...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

Then say you take his word for it. There's nothing forensics about it. Because I find the idea of billions of Christians worldwide worshipping a man that never existed, too disturbing.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

You're taking his word for it and you're playing linguistic games. I don't know that he did. But I prefer to operate under the assumption that Jesus of Nazareth did actually exist.

But that's not using forensics to determine if something is true. You're just taking his word for it. The thread is about critical thinking.

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

There's no such thing. Go ahead and use your forensic skills to prove Eden ever existed. Or that the Flood actually happened. Belief in Jesus as the Messiah is predicated on these stories being true. Especially Eden, given that it lays the foundation for why Jesus died on the cross for us...

    Ozzy Osbourne passed away today

Well, in that case, I guess we shouldn't take anyone at their word.

    Ozzy Osbourne passed away today

He was a Christian. He said it himself. He was never a Satanist. He was a musician and an entertainer. The persona we all saw on stage was just that, a persona. The "Satanic Panic" period left it's ugly mark on people like Ozzy. The conservatives of the day needed something to blame for all of...

    Ozzy Osbourne passed away today

Ozzy was no saint, but none of us are. We should hope that wherever he is now, he is at peace.

    Ozzy Osbourne passed away today

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cn0qq5nyxn0t Man. It's a surreal feeling even just typing those words. I've been a fan of Black Sabbath and Ozzy for so many years. It's crazy that he died just weeks after his final show. Rest in peace, Ozzy. I hope you're with Randy again. weepy

Can a christian be a buddhist?

That's sort of like being a Christian Muslim. :D
