Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

Yea, that’s similar to what Numbers 35:4 says. Numbers 35:4 (NKJV) The common-land of the cities which you will give the Levites shall extend from the wall of the city outward a thousand cubits all around.

    Parable of the minas

In the parable of the minas the servant who kept the pound in the napkin said “I feared thee because thou … reapest that thou didst not sow” In the parable of the tares in Matthew 13, the Son of man sows the good seed and the enemy sows the tares, then the angels reap both the tares and wheat...

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

I believe he was hung on the cross outside the wall of Jerusalem in 30AD. I believe Golgotha was inside the third wall of Jerusalem when Revelation 11 was written. Take it for what it’s worth. I was just pointing out your inconsistencies in how you interpret the scriptures. I see you as a...

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

Oh, just like the holy place becoming unholy is irrelevant. But, you’re trying to make it relevant because of your Amill beliefs. Come on. Please get serious. Look what you're doing here. You're making Matthew 24:15 contradict 1 Corinthians 3:16. Either the place was holy or it wasn't. 1...

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

I don’t think anyone is arguing against John 19:20 or Hebrews 13:12 saying He was crucified outside Jerusalem. That was true prior to the third wall being built. Right, when Jesus spoke the words in Matthew 24:15 the place was holy. Just like when Revelation 11:8 was written He was crucified...

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

Hey SI, I remember when you argued that the holy place in Matthew 24:15 was referring to a place that was holy but no longer would be holy when the AOD happens. Shouldn’t your argument about being crucified in Jerusalem follow the same logic since Golgotha is inside Jerusalem’s third wall when...

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

I already did, it’s common sense. God is not the author of confusion. The Bible doesn’t specifically say to use common sense, that verse isn’t in the Bible. Are you now going to argue that we shouldn’t use common sense because it isn’t Biblical and no interpretation needs to make sense?

    Parable of the minas

You’re asking a fair question, especially verse 27. Luke 29:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. It would seem that those who are given the cities have the responsibility to carry out the command to bring those who...

    Parable of the minas

Well there is the view that right after He arose he went to heaven received the kingdom and then returned in a short period of time. In John 20:17 Jesus tells Mary not to touch Him because He had not yet ascended to the Father. Then in John 20:27 Thomas can touch Jesus. So it’s possible that...

    Parable of the minas

Luke 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. If Satan is the nobleman what kingdom does he receive? Aren’t the kingdoms of this world already his?

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

Above is what you said previously Above is what you’re saying now The definition of Doctrine A principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma. It appears as if you’re now trying to agree that we...

    Parable of the minas

Yea, I don’t think he has a definitive answer. That’s ok, I’m not trying to pin anyone down to a specific interpretation as I don’t have one myself. I’m really just trying to get some ideas about what others are doing with this parable.

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

So are you now admitting we need to look at something outside the Canon to know when a prophecy inside the Canon is fulfilled? By the way you failed the test.

    Parable of the minas

So do you think the cities have been given out already according to the parable?

    Parable of the minas

Saying we are currently supposed to multiply our mina seems to be a straightforward interpretation, but what about the cities that are handed out after the servants have invested their minas (or not)? Why would there be more cities than servants in the parable? Would that mean that they have...

    Parable of the minas

That’s a good question, although in the parable there are more cities than servants so if the servants represent all the true believers it begs the question of who’s in the cities they have authority over.

    Parable of the minas

I agree with your post, although I think Jesus received the kingdom just after the cross. I agree the parable fits with Christ reigning and I don’t think it’s spiritual cities that are given out. I suppose it would make a good thread to discuss whether Jesus has received the kingdom yet or not.

    Parable of the minas

@William Barton That’s not my quote about the webpage notes on the mina, but I would agree with it nonetheless. Luke 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. cities <4172> πόλις a town...

Did Jesus return around 70 AD?

Here’s a simple test. If you can tell me the exact day and time the church goes apostate using only the scripture with no extra Biblical evidence, then you have used scripture to interpret scripture for a prophetic fulfillment. Post that date and how you arrived at it so we can all learn. If...
