Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Defeatism is the opposite of the power of God. Just keep telling yourself that you will always be a sinner and you will be. "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. I don't mean to scare you, but I went to church for 30 years still a slave to sin. In other words, I was headed for hell...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Here again we disagree. I know personally well that my body has not yet been born again every time I try to get out of bed! So, no. God is talking about our nature that in this case Paul refers to as "the flesh." I know it can be hard for those who only think of the flesh as being our body, but...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

I'm not talking about our body at all, so read it again. The sin nature is not our body, but is invisible and our inner self.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

If you noticed in my OP, there are two types of sins according to God, but the Reformation dumbed them down to "sin is sin." So in answer to your question: Yes, as far as Jesus taking away all desire to break ANY of God's commandments. That is lawlessness and are sins unto death. Under the Old...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Personally, I've never heard a pastor use the term "sinless perfection." But whenever I have taught that Jesus said He takes away our sin, I get WARNINGS that I'm teaching "sinless perfection." Which denominations teach against sinless perfection? I know one pastor who does, but are there more...

I bought my first Open Bible (NKJV) in 1985, and a few years ago bought the Expanded Open Bible. The Open Bible NKJV is the one I always recommend.

What books are you currently reading?

I keep reading the New Testament through over and over. Now in 1 Peter. I try to read the smaller books in one sitting. It is good for keeping context. I occasionally will read an Old Testament book also.

Only Paul, no-one else for today

I also love John ,Peter, and Matthew. What do you have against them? John and Peter show the truth that there are two types of sin in God's eyes with different weights of condemnation. The Reformation literally threw away that important truth that even Roman Catholics knew and know. From the...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

Sorry, but now I'm even more impressed that not only 6, but you don't force 8 or 10 to be about a true Christian either, who the ignorant about the whole book in context have swallowed. That is a western mindset that does NOT understand eastern writing styles. Westerners do not support...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

I usually do, but I was referring to the Scripture that you used - 1 John 1:8 8If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us." I don't suppose I would remember what I had written either, so you are quite right. What I found interesting about you, as...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

After studying how the EASTERN Apostles wrote, which is different than how a WESTERN mindset works, it is easy to see which EASTERN style of writing John is using, which is the same with Paul. You cannot rely on the western understanding of personal pronouns, but MUST rely on context alone...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

Do you consider yourself free from sin, or a sinner? Do you believe 1 John 1:8 is about Christians? How about verse 6? What made Adam sin? By your thinking you seem to think it was God who created Adam with a sin nature. No. Just a human nature with free will. Adam had a clean nature with no...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

I believe I already covered this in my first post. Picking any one of the commandments is what our cleansed nature cannot commit. Do you agree? We are still able to commit being unloving, or any other sins not unto death because of immature fruit of the Spirit. So are you saying you are not a...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

I haven't had my coffee yet, so I'll finish reading your post later, but I can answer this one first. John 15:3 is about the old sin nature that Jesus as the Author of our faith handles first. It says, "you are clean." That is because in 1 John 3:4-5 Jesus takes away lawlessness, John calls...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

I see that your chart calls the spirit the "breath of life" so why do you think the unsaved do not have a spirit? Romans 6 calls the sin nature "the old man." For those born again the sin nature has been crucified. That means dead. That is why in Romans 8:8-9 it says in context: There is...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

Galatian 5:17 and Romans 7:25 shows us that before Christ we do have a spirit, and the texts together show that our spirit is our mind, leaving our heart to be our soul. Just as "the flesh" has two meanings; so does "the soul." BTW, there is a publishers error in our Bibles when they capitalized...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

Except for your thoughts on being born again is a change to the body, I agreed with much of what you had to say. What I believe about being born again is that it is about the inner man, not the body at all. The inner man is called the old man and consists of the rebirth of our spirit and soul...

What is the meaning of Grace, according to the Bible?

This is true. And the sinful world will be judged by it. It is the ministry of death. What would you say is the New Covenant, and how is it different from the Old Covenant for us? Why must we be born again? How does being born again of the Spirit free us from the law of sin and death?

    Question- The Grace of God

I agree. But only the Spirit can reveal the truth that will set us free.
