Well I don't know about who or what is the beast in Revelation...I am simply referring to the "antichrist" which scripture says there will be many.

Oh how timely this is in my life. I am going through trials and tribulations and it is all coming from people I have loved and grown up with.

So maybe Nero was indeed one of the first antichrist who had power over the people to invoke persecution against them for following the teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Right on, and he said he was in tribulation for the Word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ....and this lines up with the same time frame that Paul was imprisoned for the same thing. This was when the apostles were being martyred for their teaching of the gospel. Paul died was martyred...
