Why I don't believe in a pretrib rapture

Eh... "soul" is an overloaded word. Not every book of the Bible means the same thing when it uses this word. E.g. the Psalms use 'soul' as a synonym for 'person.' Other books use it as a synonym for 'spirit.' Paul uses it as an antonym for 'spirit.' Danggit Paul, why you gotta be so...

One Baptism. - What is it?

If there's only ONE baptism, then the two baptisms you know of... must be the same thing.

Both Pretribbers and Preterists are clearly wrong that great tribulation begins with the DOTL.

History - which starts in the 7th century BC - doesn't record the formation of planet earth. That's all scientific hypothoses. But yes, I do agree that the 'waters' of Genesis 1 are mythological. The leading idea in the story is chaos vs. order, rather than any telling of history. There was...

What is the state of the dead in the afterlife?

Like I said before... At some point the Canaanites turned to worshiping the Baals, but before that their practice of religion was centered on Elohim (God) as their chief deity. The Israelites worship is very similar, in no small part because they copied from the Canaanites. Canaanite writings...

The War on Works: How Modern Theology Denies What Jesus Commanded.

Let's say I agree that works ought to be happening. What works do you think we should we be doing? You've made reference to the commandments, but most of them are prohibitions. They give us things NOT to do, rather than things to do.

What is the state of the dead in the afterlife?

The wickedness of the Canaanites in Moses' day is a given. It doesn't change the fact that the early Israelites took a bunch of beliefs from them, or that the Bible contains several sections of Canaanite writings. What's the point you're driving at? They also defeated two Amorite tribes and...

The Twelve Tribes Sealed in Revelation 7 Happened in Ezekiel's Day

The New Testament authors often take prophecies that had already come to pass, and point out a second (or third) fulfillment of the prophecy. So just because it already happened, doesn't mean that they aren't pointing out a future fulfillment.

The Twelve Tribes Sealed in Revelation 7 Happened in Ezekiel's Day

Simeon never received a land grant. Like Levi, the Simeonites only received a number of cities within the territory of another tribe. You may recall that Levi and Simeon took revenge inappropriately in Gen 34, and the non-bestowal of a territory of their own seems to have been a punishment...

What is the state of the dead in the afterlife?

Our Bibles preserve a bunch of the early Canaanites beliefs, that Israel took/inherited from them. It seems that the Canaanites were originally among the faithful, before later converting themselves primarily to the worship of the Baals. There certainly is for some, but Annihilation proposes...

What is the state of the dead in the afterlife?

The Canaanites and Greeks certainly thought the physical body went into an afterlife. Both of them "knew" of several entrances to that underworld. There are stories of people being rescued and brought back from the afterlife to this world. The Egyptians went to great lengths to preserve dead...

    Rapture ... soon?

I don't think living in fear of a rapture is a blessing. The problem isn't the rapture part, it's the holiness doctrines that have people constantly second-guessing whether they're "saved" at any given moment. :confused

    Rapture ... soon?

I remember when I was a child, sometimes the house would seem "too quiet" and I would run find my family to make sure they hadn't been raptured and I was left behind.

THE BANNED PROPHET: EXAMINING WHY THE BOOK OF ENOCH WAS PURGED FROM THE CANON

Is that the name of the bot, or did miss the turn-off for Kooky-Christians and head straight on into Apostasy?

    Comparing Israel with the Church

It says that Abraham and his children are elect. It says that anyone who believes like Abraham, will be adopted unto Abraham. So everyone has the chance to become elect, even if they didn't start as part of the elect group. Election is about the group; not individuals. That's the first error...

THE BANNED PROPHET: EXAMINING WHY THE BOOK OF ENOCH WAS PURGED FROM THE CANON

Yeah, you're having a conversation with a bot and ignoring the people, so the people are butting out.

THE BANNED PROPHET: EXAMINING WHY THE BOOK OF ENOCH WAS PURGED FROM THE CANON

If you're going to quote me, at least tag me so I can see it. Don't be cowardly. Yes, I believe AI can be a bad actor. It wants to agree to agree with whoever it is "talking" to, and so it will confirm ANY bias you bring to the discussion, and even confirm things as "facts" that you make up...

THE BANNED PROPHET: EXAMINING WHY THE BOOK OF ENOCH WAS PURGED FROM THE CANON

If Mel is a Christophany, then wouldn't He actually be the leader of the angels? I think that may line up better than you think. Not to say this scroll should be considered Scripture, but it does seem to agree with Scripture. E.g. in Luke 4, Jesus quotes from Isaiah 61, and attributes the...
