Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly Multiple Personality Disorder) and Faith, Heaven, Hell

@dev553344 They are not alter personalities as such but parts of us. Like people say 'a part of me wants to do this but another part wants to do that.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

He had reached the crisis all get to when they are convicted by the Holy Spirit of our sins and we see ourselves as God sees us. He meant the law of God we obey as believers. He died means he can no longer carry on as things stand. He hates his sins but cannot stop sinning.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@Lizbeth wrote: I was talking about Rom 8:1 and what follows from it (which follows on from Romans 7 and is the solution to the battle with sin), as well as other verses which speak to walking in the Spirit....and it is THROUGH the Spirit that we are to mortify the deeds of the flesh: Gal 5:16...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Paul displays to us the answer which @Lizbeth has shown already, that he went on to Romans 8 as the Holy Spirit delivered him from his legalism.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

This is the testimony of Paul when he was a Pharisee: Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. Phil 3:6 Pharisees only saw the need to have the 'outer cup' clean, they did not understand that what comes out of a man pollutes him. Jesus...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I entirely agree with you, though it was not like that in my country so much. I have heard that many have been severely damaged by it and feel for them. I do not water down the commandments and am not sin free as I have said. The message should be that it is by the power of God alone, we just...

@uncle silas Look, I am sorry you had such a bad church experience. They were clearly legalists and not preaching the true gospel. At that time in church history, there were few if any holiness churches that had not gone down into legalism and it is even worse now. I am thankful that I have...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@uncle silas If you are not here to engage in the subject, just to refute it and be insulting, I ask you to go elsewhere and start your own thread on the subject thank you.

I am glad you saw that I am not writing for you. You are too far gone.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@uncle silas Trying to obey every rule written down is not freedom. It is the burden carried by Christian in Pilgrims Progress. The walk in the Spirit is obeying Him moment by moment, so living in the present, just by hearing His voice telling you the way to go - to the left or to the right...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

OC talks about giving up the right to ourselves. I think that is pretty apt. I agree about that battle never having to be fought again. It is the battle depicted by John of the Cross in the dark night of the spirit, a terrifying place when you feel as though you are being destroyed. In fact you...

Thank you @Lambano . No it was not earned as nothing of the flesh can please God. But I was blessed with severe suffering for my whole life, and abused by all of my family then two marriages as I knew no different. When one sufferers so, the usual platitudes in religion are not enough and...

Of course and the doctrine of Theosis certainly delivers on that. The false versions, valued immorality above everything and was the reason for the interest. They believed that man would only become morally perfect in the after life. Just like a lot of believers sadly.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I am reading a very interesting book called: The Divinization of the Christian, According to the Greek Fathers by Jules Gross. He has studied in depth, the Eleusinian mystery religions of ancient Greek mythology and those of ancient Egypt, where the idea of the divinization of the elite man is...

Then that minister never knew it that's all. It is not an all of our life thing. It is a position that we can gain and lose. Like Peter when he had to be confronted by Paul.

Not intentionally. But yes l do have sins like being afraid of the future.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I already said that is what walking in the Spirit is. I am not there at the moment though. Longing to be back there.. It is entirely in the power of God who can enable me to do all things in His strength.

Using the 'we' is a manner of speech. You know the 'royal we'? Thank you for your contribution, making me long to be home again.

You are taking it out of context. He is rebutting Gnostics who said they can sin but it does not affect their spirits. Just like calvinists.
