@quietthinker I like your username. Very apt given the silent script we communicate with.

I'm on another Christian Forum which does not allow the use of titles in usernames, whether it be Reverend, Doctor, Pastor, Lord, Lady, Professor or whatever. Some Doctors of Divinty and Professors of Theology do protest, and it becomes obvious how much they love their title and the appeal to...

Unfruitful. Mat 13:22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. Fleshly. Gal 5:19-23 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication...

I take it literally, that demons do impart false doctrines to whomever they can. Gal 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 2Co 11:3-4 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his...

One I used to have until when I was 21 some charasmatics laid hands on me with much stamping and hollering and hooting and tongues after I had accepted an invitation to a screening of Ray Comforts's early film called, "My Friends Are Dying". From then on my enjoyment of cigarettes, cigars, and...

I thought this was a non-smoking forum. . .better check the Terms & Conditions :)

I'm guessing Incarnation, Death, Resurrection. . . could be wrong. I've been out of the "Anglican Communion" since 1984 aged 30, but my father, and grandfather were Anglican Vicar's here in NZ, and many ancestors and relatives have been clergymen, or ministers of some description. I was still...

What's your understanding and experience of sanctification, I'm wondering. Jas 3:13-18 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. (14) But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not...

It's never the "new creation" that sins, but always the "old man of the flesh". That much loved pastor that leads a large congregation for decades, who becomes national superintendent of his denomination, whose gift of exhortation touches thousands and is instrumental in many souls coming to...

It is comforting to know that whenever we sin we can be restored to fellowship with Christ through repentance and confession. I grew up to the strains of the centuries old Anglican liturgy (see below). Every service included the Confession, which I would pray knowing I would "err and stray like...

Absolutely! Gen 1:2 . . . And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; . . . " Gen 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, . . .

On the Late Night Thread, Nearly time for bed. Reading what's been said, These words are coloured red. It's good to be well fed, Have to think ahead. Be careful where you tread, On the Late Night Thread.

Everybody talks about a new world in the morning. A new world in the morning so they say. I, myself don't talk about a new world in the morning. A new world in the morning, that's today. And I can feel a new tomorrow comin' on. And I don't know why I have to make a song. Everybody talks a bout...

Been a few riots in Australia lately. Who riots? Not cool.

When volcanic islands errupt . . .

Some things are obvious in Scripture: Mat 1:23 "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD, AND BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which is translated, "God with us." Joh 10:30 I and My Father are one." Joh 17:20-23 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will...

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Congratulations. You passed.
