Why did Jesus pray to himself?

On that, we agree. (Let’s take a moment to enjoy this rare moment of solidarity). :p Evidently, you deny the title with all capital—LORD is reserved for Jesus’ God, YHWH, who Jesus says is the only true God. One wonders what that means for the trinitarian god?

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

Rather than ask what you know deep down inside, just show us where a Scripture contradicts itself; where it says there is one God, the Father at 1 Cor 8:6 but this other verse says Jesus is God.

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

This is a good point. Psalm 82 and 1 Kings 22:22 talks of the council and other places as well. This seems to be downplayed nowadays.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

What a stretch and total lack of discernment! Politically opposing bad public policy is a duty of citizenship within the confines of Give to Caesar what is Caesar's. As MLK Jr pointed out, we have a duty to follow moral laws and a duty to not follow immoral laws. Now, secular government has the...

    Reason for The Crusades explained

Regrettable but unavoidable. Do you think the Jihadi's worry about collateral damage? You don't see right. Initiate violence. React to violence done to you. No the same.

    Reason for The Crusades explained

No. We're counseling violence IN obedience to Christ. Or do you suppose he meant for us to buy a sword to be a dust collector?

How does this answer the question of the reasons FOR the Crusades?

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

I have the CJB. The word is Yeshua. (I don't know where Yahava comes from. Is that Aramaic?)

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

Like @MatthewG, I just go by what Scripture actually teaches. Every Gospel teaches the same thing - and only this thing about who Jesus is. All the Gospels proclaim Jesus is God’s Anointed. None teach Jesus is YHWH incarnate. Matthew 1:1 (VOICE) This is the family history, the genealogy, of...

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

I'm not sure why you reply to a question with a question rather than simply answer the yes or no question. There is nothing rude about the question one little bit. That you are so easily offended reveals pride. Jesus didn't get offended. Jesus didn't call people rude. The question exposes the...

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

You are right about long drawn out debates and this is incorrect, a false trinitarian claim. What is interchangeable is capital-LORD with God in Scripture. There are dozens of lowercase lord's and Jesus is one. Also, there are times the LORD God is referred to as a lord but that is only...

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

The ’reason‘ is in place of an actual teaching of Scripture, which is only God the Father. Every epistle teaches this. No Scripture teaches God the Son or God the HS and the reason is obvious.

Why did Jesus pray to himself?

I’m glad you see that’s it’s not quite. How do you reconcile the trinity creed with for us, there is one God, the Father? Does that include the trinity box?

Pray Viciousness Ends in Public Discourse

False equivalence between an insult and the viciousness of praying to God for a person who has a difference of opinion on public policy to have a fatal diagnosis!

I haven't spoken to my father for 17 years but wrote several letters. Just wrote him another letter, inspired by the song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Some years ago my Pastor made an axiomatic observation during a sermon that whenever she hears that family aren't talking, she doesn't need to...

    Politicization of AI

It’s much worse than that. I’m disappointed that in light of Revelation and the Mark of the Beast man reached to exceed his grasp. I’m not saying AI is the Mark of the Beast. I’m saying it is the necessary technological infrastructure to make it happen.

Pray Viciousness Ends in Public Discourse

One thing I realized as a young man is the Left’s totalitarian view of politics. It doesn’t end for them. OK, we disagree on public policy X; I’ll see you at church, work, at the neighbors cook out, and we’ll work together on many other public policies we agree on. First, it was cancel culture...
