    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Ah, Amigo, my Friend. :waves: Making the evening, slightly-on-topic rounds, I see?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Well, this has been fun but I've got to be a' movin' on to more encountery pastures. :running:

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

It's never okay for a follower of Christ not to love God supremely or to withhold love from his neighbor that he would desire to have for himself. I don't think a Pharisee lawyer (not me¿) would have been comfortable saying that. :)

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Wow. And I didn't even include the 4th commandment.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I honestly have no idea what this means, Brother. Why would it? Is it ever acceptable for a follower of Christ to have other God's? To have idols? To take the LORD's name in vain? To dishonor parents? To commit murder? To commit adultery? To steal? To bear false witness? To covet? Are...

I'm Hungry Right Now, What are you munching On?

Chef Jean Pierre is very amusing. I just had raw broccoli and cheezy bean dip! Oh, boy! I like stuff that fills you up and digests quickly. :stageright:

I've learned that message boards that permit free expression are extraordinarily RARE

Good to know! You have a user name similar to a man who once lurked about here and I thought you were he.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Honestly, David, I don't think it was ever God's intention for there to be a tension between an "every word that proceeds..." and an "of the things which we have spoken this is the sum" view of Scripture. Neither is complete without the other. And surely we weren't given a book with 750,000...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Aye, aye if you're in the Navy! :p

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I can't help but observe that while the subject of how Jesus taught the deeper meanings of how the ten commandments should be kept is often cited as affirmation of the decalogue, His elaboration on the finer points of how to keep the 4th one are used only as evidence supporting its...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Ernest T., you got that look in your eye. Now, I want you to put down that brick this instant!

Another possible opposite of "refresh" would be to "stagnate." Eww

I've learned that message boards that permit free expression are extraordinarily RARE

That's odd. I don't think I've ever gotten a nasty PM about my views. Folks prefer to roast me out in the open. Actually, I've been treated pretty well here, even by dissenters. Must be my winning ways. :tiphat:

Why do so many of you insult fellow Christians that express a different understanding?

Most of your psychologists are in favor of bud-nippin'. "All right, you! Now, get in there... And suck in that gut!!"

What should we eat, mans original diet.

When I was a kid, snacking between meals was discouraged and, in some quarters, not allowed at all. Digestion requires a lot of taxing effort, and the digestive organs need rest as much as any part of the human machinery. Science is re-realizing this, as well. Recently, a study was done showing...

I think he means "contact." You want me to haul him in, Sheriff? :jest:

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Brother, you have me at an embarrassing disadvantage, I'm afraid. I recall that we talked about only living a half-state apart but I can't remember the circumstances of the invitation I extended. I hope I didn't make a light-hearted promise I can't keep. It'd be great to get together and...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I confess I have a special fondness for some here, as well, which would include you, my Brother. Many of them have gone. I hope they come back. I miss them. And, although I can recall no comments you have made discouraging folks from obeying God, just today one of our community said that to...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Fair enough. I concede my glaring mistake. I forgot how the story begins, and I should have re-read it before commenting on it. That's one a-ha I owe you - lol. However, I've never in my life believed that anyone could be saved by keeping any one, nor all of the 10 commandments. And this...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I'm afraid I'll have to beg your pardon again, Brother. I see the Word directly pointing out the covetousness, but not an aversion to following Christ as Messiah of Israel. It could be argued that he never expected Christ to point out his greed and that therefore he had a wrong misconception of...
