Spiritual death is by sinning. Bodily death is by nature.

Here Jesus speaks of both types of dead: Mt 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

    A Friends Asked...

Mr 6:4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. Mr 6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them

    dumb questions I was emailed

I also use only the KJV for English reading and study. After so many decades in it, I am not likely to change now. But... God may certainly speak to others via other versions.

    dumb questions I was emailed

I would not say "entirely" or "strictly". Consider what Solomon wrote about wisdom: Pr 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Pr 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Pr...

    dumb questions I was emailed

Mt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. If one is faithful in seeking first things first, what will be added to him? And..? Re 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some...

    Is repentance needed for salvation?

Yes, indeed... Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost His work was finished in His flesh, but is it finished in us? Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy...

The Cup of Suffering - Bible Study, (Many references)

Or is it that all people descended from the 1st man Adam were dead to God? When and if they were drawn by the Father and they chose the Life which Jesus brought they were quickened [brought to Life or resurrected] by the Holy Spirit.

Why do some people not like the idea of OSAS?

Not quite, "all", as one truly led by the Spirit and always following the Spirit and never quenching the Spirit is not speaking with the presumptions, interpretations or personal beliefs of the flesh. Have any of us known anyone always like that? How about sometimes? Give God the glory!

The Cup of Suffering - Bible Study, (Many references)

Yes! He prayed three times asking his Father to relieve him of the necessity, but each time he included this: "...nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Was it not the Father's will for Jesus to suffer and die?

The Cup of Suffering - Bible Study, (Many references)

Mt 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. The carnal nature of the Jesus did not want to drink the cup, but after this third request to his Father...

    Question for non-JW's

Change the word "know" to "believe" and I will understand. Sometimes the church fathers may have been correct, but like all humans who have not overcome the world as did Jesus, I believe that they were sometimes in error.

    Question for non-JW's

Hmm... but who are/were these historical Christians who have/had it all right? What is the answer to my second question? "Who always knows the mind of God?"
