How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

If you could read the bible from a non-religiously indoctrinated perspective, you would see that there are ALWAYS the four being cited. It begins in Genesis 2 with the 4 rivers that flow out of the garden...all the way to Rev. 22:11. If you were a little more perceptive you wouldn't mock at the...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

This is rich. Well, nothing they mentioned in Sunday school...that's for sure. I suppose this lack of knowledge leads you to condemn people who are not condemned and champion people who are such. There are 4 eternal destines for people not two. The immature will react to this as it doesn't fit...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

We must be born again to be saved from sin. Yes, Jesus came to take away the sins of the world. That's right. We reap what we sow. The wages of sin is death. I understand your American version of being born again. I just don't think it is according to the truth. I believe it is based on...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I never seek to push anyone in a religious way. I avoid dogmatic presumptions like the plague. The important thing is to keep the main things the main things. It's important to love others as ourselves...to be humble, to fear the Lord. I think pushing a spiritual status on people is self-defeating.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Again, bless you. I know that there are those who will hear the the truth from the inner person of the heart...in spite of al the noisy static that is produced by religious assumptions and presumptions that tries to negate the wisdom and logic of the biblical narrative.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

For those who struggle with what it means to be born again...and who feel they must claim to be so to be saved. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. If we are physically alive we normally have the temporal faculties to navigate our way through the physical world. We are present and...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Put your indoctrination aside for one second...and answer this. Born again for what??? We must do many things. We must take the garbage out. If we don't we will be overrun with vermin and the place will stink. Will we go to hell? No. We must brush our teeth. If we don't we might get tooth...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Yes. Agreed. But just because a role is available doesn't mean we have to be the one who plays it. Just because the truth needs to be shut down doesn't mean we need to be the one who volunteers to do it. Many spirits have gone out into the world. We don't have to accommodate any of them...save...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The imagination is very active with these. But pretending has no effect on reality. Not even if it is religious in nature.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I don't see any mention of hell in anything concerning being born again or not. I think the hell comes from the religious minds who interpret the bible falsely. ....and to their own advantage. If someone says....unless you put on your glasses...you cannot read the paper. Does that mean that if...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

You see...and your cohorts... that God is a teddy bear to you and a tormentor to all who are not like you. What if you had it exactly backwards? What if God hated hypocrisy, judgmentalism, smug self-assurance, and the religious ego MORE than what you look down on others for? What if God gave...

I think you are on the right path! :) Bless you sister!

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

This is indeed important. A person will be deceived very easily unless he/she has the same depth of experience as the people that we read about in the bible. So many see the living God as dead...unreachable...as if God only lives inside the bible. A dead religion seeks to replace the life of the...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

The error I expose in the modern version of the gospel...is due to a superficial understanding of spiritual things (or a non-existent understanding) and how the narrative is wrested from its intent to serve a religious man-inspired agenda. Of course what I teach will sound bizarre at times when...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

What I deny is the excessive religiosity, self-righteous claims, and hypocritical judgments that takes good sounding verses for the ego....and denies the truth of the warnings and instructions found in the passages that don't say "saved" or "born-again. The very superficiality of the modern...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

This is a protestant error. An invention by self-interpreters. You will find no such doctrine in the bible. The obsession with the word "saved" is part of the indoctrination...to be repeated over and over and put into every sentence. The more one says "saved" the more one is saved...obviously...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Why is anything that doesn't say "born again" or "saved" just an odd scripture? If it doesn't support your religious indoctrination it's not important? How wise is to throw away God's instructions and warnings? The lake of fire burns forever. The second death destroys the living soul.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Yes it is. Yes...but to a totally different end. Yes. This is in your imagination. You can't back that up with scripture. One must be born again...as a mantra? For what? Do you have any idea what being born again is and for what purpose? For you it seems...it's just a...must.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

This is a strawman...or it is based on a lack of reading skills. No one is saying that the foundation isn't Christ. The bible describes how we are to build on that foundation. You are confusing a future judgment and what we are to do now to be assured of a better outcome on that day. This is...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Paul indeed had his own wood, hay and stubble, burned up through a baptism of fire....that took away all the value he put on worldly things...even (temporally) honourable things...all that he might gain the higher walk that is found by abiding in Christ. From that walk he then was able to...
