Actually God saves a person first and as a result they repent. A Spiritually dead lost person cannot repent. Repentance as is faith is evidence of having been born again saved.

If God doesn't save you first, you will never repent, as far as Salvation is concerned. A lost person cannot repent nor believe, they dead in sin!
