Not in Ireland. Im in North Carolina. I can hear birds outside on the balcony of the apartment. I love music but recently decided 80's and 90's R'n B was not what I needed for my walk with the Lord. I had a personalized radio station for that and alternative rock bands like Incubus, Creed...

Nature Sounds. ... a hyuk! Im struggling. Maybe this thread can give me better music to listen to!

I fixed it :)

I understand what you're saying and no, I wouldn't want to say or even imply that we are saved of works. Id rather say that obedience is the evidence or the fruit of saving faith. Its not the works that save you, just like fruit on a tree are not the source of the tree's life. Jesus and...

Its green moss on cliffs on the beach with a pair of sneakers.

Lol Is that all it takes? I think a lot of men are quite easy to please.

It's not a matter of if its possible. Its the Bible's standard and is accomplished by faith. Christianity has a cost Luke 14:28. And not many people find the right way to be on Matthew 7:13-14. I notice you haven't said that Im wrong but that Im presenting a standard that is impossible to...

They need to repent. Acts 2:38, Matthew 4:17, Acts 3:19 That also means departing from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:19. Confess Jesus with your mouth. Believe in your heart. Romans 10:9 Recieve the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 If you sin, confess it. 1 John 1:9 Walk by the Spirit 5:16 Endure till the...

Im just trying to point out the irony of your accusations. You said earlier that they condemn believers. Yet you're condemning them. They haven't condemned believers. They are sticking to the biblical qualifications of what makes a truly saved believer. What do you believe Jesus taught and...

We wouldn't want to condemn believers now would we? But yet you're calling amigo de christo and justbyfaith anti-christ.

I gave this some serious thought. At first I wanted to argue. However, It is true that the best way to stop sin is not to play whack-a-mole with each sin that pops up but to be filled with the Word of God and His Spirit. So the "effort" should always go first to seeking the Lord, then His grace...

While true that it's not "work out" as in working up a sweat, am I wrong in thinking that sanctification is not without effort? Someone will leap up and say Im talking about works based righteousness. But what I mean is that it takes effort to crucify the flesh. I used to think that if I just...

One time, I tried to go back and read every past post in a long thread like this one. I never made it! So I won't try to read every single post in this one. That being said, I want to respond to what Pearl said. You may not be able to be unborn but you can still die. Its true that Peter was...

There is nothing unbiblical about what Michiah-Imla said. Rather, we're to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12 King James Version 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own...

"Theology", "Calvinism", "OSAS" all confused and hindered me in my walk with God. I used to wonder why sin was kicking my butt qnd why I felt far from God. Those in the above camp kept telling me to simply "rest in God's grace". But then I began reading the Bible for myself. What justbyfaith...

I will try and continue reading through this whole thread today.

I was thinking I had messed it up so badly in the past that I couldn't consider myself a Christian. The verses in Ezekiel let me know that any day is a day I can choose righteousness. Even if I had done wicked every day before, if I repent and do righteousness, then Id be saved. Before...

These verses in Ezekiel have had a freeing effect on me as well. :)

Thank you for this post. There is a lot to glean from.

The truth is, obedience to God does requires diligence. 2 Peter 1:5 King James Version 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; Also, we are to actively resist sin. Hebrews 12:3-4 King James Version 3 For consider him that endured such...
