Which kind of FAITH regarding JESUS do you have?

I'm only 5 years behind you, but I've learned more in the past 10 years than I knew anytime before that. But it was because I was tired of all the man-made reasoning, like what you know. I prayed to God to erase all the wrong doctrine and reteach me. And He started immediately!

Which kind of FAITH regarding JESUS do you have?

The context is sinlessness in God. Read chapter 3. So in verse 8 saying you don't have sin being a lie certainly can't be a Christian, but they are human, so must be BEFORE coming to Christ. Unless you don't believe verse 9. Oh yeah, you believe that is for one sin, and not you sinful nature, so...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

The existence of God is evident in nature; they have no excuse except anger toward's someone. Usually it is seeing all the horrors in the world, and deep down they believe if God did exist, why didn't he stop the mayhem. That is why they are angry at God. They should be angry at Satan.

Come on Bob. Don't be an old dog that can't learn anything new. LOL

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I didn't remember the the Seventh-day Adventist's doctrines still held on to some of Calvin's teachings. Yikes! qtpie, what you described is the "old man" "the flesh". Read Romans 6 through 8. Our old man is crucified, Romans 6:6-7, and we are no in the flesh but in the Spirit Romans 8:9. I did...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Jesus freed women when he said "neither male nor female" - all are alike in Jesus. Though he still lived in the culture of the Jews, He himself rose above it. Paul was still quoting the culture he lived in. They were his own opinions from the culture he lived in.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I'm sorry I called him a SDA. He must be of Armstrong's Church of God - a cult.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

The spiritual aspect of the Sabbath has nothing to do with going to Church services. It was actually a physical rest - which is the letter of the law. The spiritual aspect of God's rest Heb. 4, was Today, meaning everyday, every moment, every second. The letter of the law was outward rest...

The Lord's Day (Rev. 1:10) - Sabbath (7th) or Sunday (1st) or Eschatological day or something else?

I'll show you another one which will open up your mind to the real meaning of God's grace. Acts 4:33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. This verse confirms it if you already know that grace is God's power...

Which kind of FAITH regarding JESUS do you have?

I just told you. It is a contrast between light vs. darkness. That is why verse 8 and 10 are separtated by verse 9 instead of written as one verse. This is an example of the Semitic writing style of contrasts. Chapter 3 is the same writing style. It was written to people with an eastern mindset...

Which kind of FAITH regarding JESUS do you have?

It is what the whole epistle is about. Historically, Gnostics were infiltrating the Church and converting members.

The Lord's Day (Rev. 1:10) - Sabbath (7th) or Sunday (1st) or Eschatological day or something else?

I must have missed your conclusion. So what do you believe the Book of Revelation is about? If you are trying to equate the Lord's Day to the OT Sabbath, John would have just said Sabbath.

The Lord's Day (Rev. 1:10) - Sabbath (7th) or Sunday (1st) or Eschatological day or something else?

1 Corinthians 1:6-8 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a Semitic...

Which kind of FAITH regarding JESUS do you have?

I don't. But what I want to know from you is why you doubt Jesus? Did Jesus die for NOTHING in your case? Have you never taken steps to become born again and free from sin? Now I'm waiting for you to respond with 1 John 1:8. But just so you know, I'm not a Gnostic so that verse never even...

Those atheists are atheists because they are mad at God, and love our disharmony.

Which kind of FAITH regarding JESUS do you have?

Acts 2:38 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Bob, how many times must you "Repent" and how many times must you be baptized in water to receive the...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

The verse and your statement do not correlate. The "mystery" from which true godliness springs is God in us. It is also called abiding in Him, and He in us. This is the New Covenant of the Spirit. We are holy because God in us is holy. Certainly there are steps to take during our life, but at...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Firstly, thank you for acknowledging me. I love Adventists and like to have a relationship with all of you, not just @BarnyFife and @quietthinker who I call QT, two lovely and fine Christian men. I also want to get ahead of your thoughts that I may believe that Saturday was changed to Sunday...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Yes, that is true theefaith. But in 1 John 3:23 the Father is also seen as changing them, further confirming that the three are one.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Actually a deeper moral law became part of the New Covenant. The Old Covenant law was too shallow, basically the bottom line. Now hate is equal to murder, where before you could hate, but murder was the letter of the law. Hate is inside our spirit and soul and has been replaced by love.
