Correct. And Jesus is much more than just the Bible. He is Truth itsef (John 14:6), and the Church is the Pillar and Fouundation of that Truth (1 Tim. 3:15). He is the Church (Acts 9:4-5), which is the FULLNESS of Him (Eph. 1:22-23).

BINGO. And unlike all of your fairy tales and false accusations - history actually happened. The Canon of Scripture that YOU adhere to was compiled and declared by the SAME Church that YOU claim is fal;se. That would mean that YOU follow a false Canon. Good job . . .

Can you pooint to a SINGLE lake, river, or stream that you don't clim UP to get out of? I didn't think so, Einsten . . .

WRONG, Einstein. - The Synod of Rome (382) is where the canon was first formally identified – ALL 73 (not 66) Books. - 11 years after that, it was confirmed at the Synod of Hippo (393). - 4 years later, at the Council (or Synod) of Carthage (397), it was yet again confirmed. The bishops...

After conversing with you on many posts – it really doesn’t come to a surprise to me that you have absolutely NO GRASP on Matt. 23 – or ANY OTHER page of Scripture. Your bankrupt understanding of this passage is, well – embarrassing for a person who claims to know the Scriptures. Allow me to...

No – SCRIPTURE doesn’t support the false, 16th century, man-made invention that the authority of Scripture is adequate. You guys can whine about it until the COWS come home – but until you can PROVE it – from Scripture – you’re ALL blowing hot wind. Scripture itself tells us that Christ’s...

The Canon of Scripture is closed because the Catholic Church closed it at the Council of Trent in the 16th century, largely due to the perversions happening within Protestantism. Many of YOUR Protestant Fathers couldn’t agree on the NT and some, like Luther and Calvin wasnted to remove Books...

ONE more time: The Canon of Scripture was a Tradition declared by the Catholic Church in 383.. This was a revelation from the Holy Spirit to the CHURCH. The writings of the Early Church yestify UNANIMOUSY regarding child and INFANT Baptism as a practice handed down by the Apostles. Scripture is...

The promise was made to the Apostles – the first BISHOPS of the Church. Hey were the first leaders – and, as we read in Acts 1:20 0 their Bishoprics were successive. Jesus was not an idiot who would only make this promise ONLY to the Twelve only to forget His Church after they were gone. In...

Now, THAT’S funny . . . A rabid, ignorant anti-Catholic, who condemns ALL things Catholic – yet he adheres to Catholic Tradition of the Canon of Scripture. Tell mr - WHY do you accept THIS Catholic Tradition?? WHO told you that the Bible you own was the Word of God??
  11. BreadOfLife

That’s nonsense – as I already PROVED in post #324. The Word of God is NOT only conveyed in what is written – but in the ORAL Tradition as well. See the examples below. There is NO such thing as “Sola” Scriptura – or even “Sola” Oral Tradition. They are BOTH sources of God’s truth because they...

Sooooo, everythijng I taught you about in post #399 and all of the scholarly testimony from Protestant sources I listed in posts 406 & 407 just dribblrd out of those hles in your head like so much gravy. I guess it wouldn't help a person wuth limited capacity - like yourself - to be reminded...

Rev 22:18-19 is NOT a descriptn of 0 nor does it provide support for the idea that Scripture is our SOLE Authority. It simply warns the reader not to add to take away from this Book. I'm NOT sure what Rev. 13:8 has to do with Sola Scriptura - but as far as I can tell - it doesn't have anything...

Cont'd . . . Suzanne de Dietrich Presbyterian theologian The play on words in verse 18 indicates the Aramaic origin of the passage. The new name contains a promise. ‘Simon’, the fluctuating, impulsive disciple, will, by the grace of God, be the ‘rock’ on which God will build the new community...

And, as I’ve schooled you on previous posts – Jesus isn’t the ONLY the only person in Scripture who is referred to as the “ROCK”. - Abraham is called the “ROCK (Isaiah 51:1-2) - Peter is called the “ROCK” (Matt. 16:18). As for the Protestant scholars I listed who AGREE with me – they can...

Good grief - I can only PRAY that you‘re not an actual Marine. I like to think that those in our armed forces have the capacity to think . . . Peter, a “little stone”? Matthew’s Gospel was in written in Koine Greek. Like MANY other languages – Greek uses feminine and masculine nouns. “Petros”...

WRONG. It has NOTHING about who is more “Biblical”. There was NO New Testament Canon in existence at the time. It’s about who was FAITHFUL to their teachings – whether by a written letter – OR by an ORAL teaching. WRONG. 1 Cor. 1:19 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of...

And I’ve already exposed this idiocy on another post. Please show me the historical DOCUMENT showing how Constantine “started” the Catholic Church in the 4th century. The Romans were real sticklers for documents. If you can’t produce it – then you are nothing but a LIAR. But we already knew...

Because babies weren’t being instructed. Their PARENTS were. . Did 8-day-old Jewish boys have to give their consent before being circumcised? Circumcision was how they entered the COVENANT with Go. A “Covenant” by definition is a sacred agreement. Show me where the 8-day-old boys had to give...
