What does it mean to be born again?

I think its irresponsible to the max to not encourage people to go to the cross to have the flesh dealt with...instead encouraging a belief that there is no need to do so. It is a question of truth and faith. Salvation is a process. There is a narrow door...but also a narrow way.

What does it mean to be born again?

Someone who walks in resurrection life doesn't look to justify their present walk by believing certain verses are true for all who believe. Paul warns people to fear and bear the right fruit...or else rejection occurs. That never happens to those who are ideologically indoctrinated. It's the...

What does it mean to be born again?

This is idealized. Paul wrote what happened to him. BUT very few are like Paul. All you have to do is read his warnngs about being cut off....like the Israelites to realize Paul is not trying to form a delusional religious formula for succeess for whoever names and claims it. You have to see...

What does it mean to be born again?

Having personally experienced up to Romans 8, I can say that the layout of Paul shows us that we shouldn't be stopping and justifying ourselves based on Romans 6. What do you say?

What does it mean to be born again?

Yes, yes, how we can get so stuck in Romans 6 that we neglect moving on through Romans 7 into Romans 8 where the victory lies. The point is not to get selective about the passages that we think justify our present condition.

What does it mean to be born again?

OK..and yet in post #1857 you quoted this... Philippians 3:4-11 KJV 4) Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5) Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew...

What does it mean to be born again?

Everybody, including hypocrites agrees with wordings. What is lacking in Romans 6 is the power to walk as Jesus walked. That is reserved for Romans 8. Do you agree with the "wordings" of the whole bible? or just Romans 6?

What does it mean to be born again?

Are you claiming to walk without sin? See what others here make of that. I see by your attitude that you walk by the power of the flesh...or...constant sin. Only on one level The sin of the hypocrite is against God's holiness. And that kind of sin is worse than carnal sins. So then do you see...

What does it mean to be born again?

    You mean like Paul?

What does it mean to be born again?

Do you know the difference between teaching and testimony?

What does it mean to be born again?

What are you claiming here..to be of the tribe of Benjamin? Why are you citing Paul's testimony? Were you also shipwrecked 3 times?

What does it mean to be born again?

Here you take an initial stage too far. We are baptized into His death...who we used to be. But it still takes the Spirit to overcome the deeds of the flesh. When I talk about walking without sin...I get all kinds of unbelief and abuse! Why? Because that level of walk is not given (usually) as...

What does it mean to be born again?

I saw the thread you started...and I know you want to reconcile your life to the scriptures. And that's not a bad thing in itself. The problem lies when we want to justify ourselves by a reading of the bible. What is Romans 6 about? It's about being the people of God on the New Covenant scale...

What does it mean to be born again?

This is good Mark. It's best to leave judgment to God. And so often we may be going directly against the Lord's will and heart by not being willing to be corrected. it's funny that we will pray to God for instruction and understanding..and when it comes, we don't like the vessel that God chose...

What does it mean to be born again?

You are trying to make a minor point obscure a major point. That's your religious flesh at work...It's like you getting arrested for shoplifting then pointing out how pretty a dress is. Wrath is wrath...and that's more important to understand in order to avoid it than in the factoid that some...

What does it mean to be born again?

The truth is being abused. I speak the truth...and then I get attacked for it...because the flesh gets uncomfortable around the Spirit of truth. It is between the Spirit and the flesh....and you are speaking by the power of the flesh..which you neither perceive nor care to understand.

What does it mean to be born again?

What I said was...I mock people that mock God. So if you mock God....then I will mock you. Notice what God says.. "He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: The Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, And vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my...

What does it mean to be born again?

After you acknowledge that I was talking about the wrath of God. But that's not our concern. You do realize that we are not to be concerned with the judgment of unbelievers? Exactly my point. But many Christians WILL experience the wrath of God. Are you interested?

What does it mean to be born again?

Amen. Being online is not like being in person. I find that people say and do worse things online because they think they can get away with it. But a Christian should realize that he will come under judgement for every idle word.
