I can appreciate the movie more because I had the background of the book before I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The book is better, I believe, if you are able to get into it. After receiving the Holy Ghost, I presumed that there would be nothing else for me in the LOTR. I was wrong...

Perhaps the rejection is hell on/in earth... or death on/in earth? Perhaps the heaven or the hell is in men depending on where they are at the moment with or without God?

Long before the movie existed, while in college in the 1960's I bought and read the books for the first time. I read them several times I guess before there was a movie. Now I have my own copies of both books and movies and periodically I go through them one more time. I am about due again.
