Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

Thanks.... I think. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7 "6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Sarcasm is deceit's little sister; their father is the devil.

Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

Actually all he needed to do is refute a single one of your re-translated scriptures or misunderstood interpretations. Scripture needs to agree with itself, and the Orthodox understanding of the scriptures condemning homosexuality is consistent. However if you are incorrect concerning even one...

    Where I have been.....

One thing I would like to avoid is creating spiritual orphans. So I think it needs to be associated with one or more churches. That would be for when someone doesn't have a home church.

    Where I have been.....

I wonder if a christian retreat would be a good idea. A place where your kept in isolation from the rest of the world, in solitude. The only time you would have contact with others would be an optional daily worship service. The deal would be if you leave you couldn't come back in for a year...

Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

I am saying I have no right to discipline anyone here according to Matthew 5:22. According to that verse he may be in danger of hell for calling his brother a fool. I would hope as a brother you would be concerned for him. But it seems you are too concerned with your homosexual agenda, and...

Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

My opinion is the rules of this site need to be enforced in order to keep the discussions amicable. Name calling is a violation of the rules, and instances a responsible moderator are aware of will be addressed (privately most of the time). Please also be aware that moderators are responsible...

Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

There are verses that show judging is acceptable. If you would care to seek out the truth on the matter please give your attention to the new topic Wormwood has started. http://www.christianityboard.com/topic/21058-do-not-judge/

Forgiving others though it may be difficult

We may know all the scriptures telling us to forgive, but speaking that forgiveness aloud doesn't make the feelings of bitterness go away. The scriptures only tell us we need to forgive. Bitterness does not uproot the moment we speak, the heart may still harbor contempt. We can be left...

    Do Not Judge?

I was preparing to start this topic as well. There is much confusion over what Judging means, and when it is required. A late friend and former Moderator BiggAnddy recommended a book to me dedicated to the subject: Judging When? Why? How? By Derek Prince. It addresses the paradox of some...

    Solomon vs Jesus Christ

I actually love Ecclesiastes, it helped change my life... for the better. It correctly shows us how meaningless this corporeal existence is from a human perspective. It isn't a very spiritually deep book, but it is full of practical wisdom about living one's life. When I take into...

    Solomon vs Jesus Christ

I see no contradiction between what Solomon and Christ said. Truly the dead know nothing. So praise be to the God of the living for revealing his Son to us.

Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

In this situation there was repentance, as this man was willing to divorce the wife he loves to be right with God. He recognized the sin and wanted to correct it. How many people do you know willing to sacrifice everything for God? Matthew 10:37-39 What your describing is adulterers who are...

Why can these Bible teachings and commands be ignored while others can not?

Someone I knew who lives in Bangladesh was kicked out of their church when it was found he was remarried. He was even considering devorcing his new wife to try and repent of his sin. His church found that would be a sin as well, and recognised his difficult situation. He was allowed back into...

What happens when a few fanatics force their beliefs on others..

Four topics relating to homosexuality is excessive. I would advise no one to create a new topic on that subject in the near future, unless you enjoy your work being deleted :) The act of posting multiple topics on the same issue, otherwise known as cross-posting, is not allowed.

The use of humor in Gospel Preaching

Self effacing humor seems pretty harmless. 2 Corinthians 11 & 12 seem ripe with dry humor, Look at 2 Corinthians 12:13.

Are WE as Christians a new creation or is it Christianity?

I got the new creation being the body of Christ from Ephesians 2:14-22. I think the body of Christ is part of the new creation, but I'm not sure that is the entirety of the new creation. Revelation 21:5 shows God is making everything new, and that agrees with some of these translations.
