We are partakers of the divine nature

You're asking about contradiction Marks? Is Jesus an active destroyer or an active saviour? Holding both ideas simultaneously is an active contradiction.....and this is no quibble over words. Men in their wisdom attributed violence and destruction to an angry God continuously, even men of...

How to : Take Communion = with correct Faith.

Your never ending 'how to's' by their very nature has turned God's gift into a formula. By that measure you are the one defining God's gift as a formula.

    How to : Overcome

How to : Overcome I think overcoming the 'how to' is probably a good and helpful realisation.

How to : Take Communion = with correct Faith.

You're the master of 'how to' Behold. Has it ever occurred to you that God's gift is not a formula, it is a gift.

We are partakers of the divine nature

What I find interesting Mark is that exploration of meaning is now labelled 'quibbling over words' and as we define the word 'violence' to be oppression, it is all of a sudden spoken of as 'Violence isn't always wrong' It appears holding contradictory views is not a problem when they support...

We are partakers of the divine nature

Much of Christendom attributes violence to God as a 'normal' activity. Isn't that strange? Do we say that the ministry of Jesus is/ was oppressive? Those who favour a violent God cite the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah amongst other examples they try to dig up. I suggest there is another way of...

God's Wrath for the Unrighteous and Ungodly

the question is begged, what is God's wrath....or, how does scripture define it?

We are partakers of the divine nature

No......however, often it does....and in so doing reveals the spirit of the enemy

God's Wrath for the Unrighteous and Ungodly

Attraction to an angry God who will fry you if you don't fall into line is about as appealing as a needle in the eye. Aren't we commissioned to tell people good news, not threats? ....or is it only good news to the 'good' folk?

We are partakers of the divine nature

How do we define the divine nature? Is not its crowning jewel that of forgiving ones enemies? Isn't it that of uplifting the downtrodden? Is it not holding no record of wrongs? What good is being right if it births violence and force?

    What is Christianity?

Those who were first called Christians were witnesses to the resurrected Jesus. Irrespective of the definitions given through the course of history by any and sundry, it remains that only those who have met The Jesus and embraced his reality are worthy of the name. So the question remains...

Being filled vs being baptized with the Spirit

11 “I baptize [G907] you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize [G907] you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Fire! It seems fire is associated with God's presence. Could it be the fire of love which...

    Why were the Jews hated?

Why were the Jews hated? God gave the Israelites gifts over and above the surrounding nations. These gifts were for the glorification of God yet they used these gifts for their own glorification. They exploited the nations around them instead of being representatives of the God of the Universe...

    julie green--who is she?

Love is vulnerable. That's its nature. Jesus died because we murdered him. He surely didn't want to die; this is evident by his prayer in the garden. Love does not retaliate with unkindness. He allowed/ gave permission for his murderers to kill him.......because he loved. It was/ is unthinkable...

    The final harvest?

ahhhh, biblical! It seems to me there are dozens of views as to what folk deem biblical on this site. I suppose it's your understanding which is unquestionable ....and that with permission to judge those whom you deem don't meet your criteria. In any case, I see you are fixed in your ideas...
