Denying the Cross: How to do it

We have His nature and His mind because we have His Spirit. Being one with His Spirit, His mind, His nature. It's a matter of being in the Spirit, of walking in the Spirit. We grow into it and also grow in it, at least that is how it seems to me.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

What I might be able to contribute on this is that the Holy Spirit renews our mind to the mind of Christ......as scripture says, we have the mind of Christ. It's a matter of being in the spirit, walking in the spirit, then we have the mind of Christ.....which is the mind illuminated and renewed...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

The passage itself tells us what not discerning the body means. It means not being able to distinguish between the body of Christ and one's lunch. This isn't rocket science. It also means on another level that the body of Christ is supposed to partake of the love feast/Lord's supper together...

    Bishop Barron on Holiness

If Jesus is the "centre" then we would look to and follow His example and teachings. Did He teach "if necessary use words"? Not in any bible I have read. He went around doing good WHILE preaching the gospel of the kingdom as did the apostles and early church in general. And while not...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Except that is not what those scriptures say without ADDING anything to them. Those folks were being greedy and gobbling down all the free food which was supposed to be a shared love feast and the Lord's supper while selfishly leaving their poor brothers/sisters to go hungry while not...

    Bishop Barron on Holiness

If Jesus is truly the "centre" of anyone's life and heart, they would preach/teach HIS word rather than their own words and thoughts punctuated with scripture- that is always a slippery slope leading to more and more error.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Except unfortunately those believers who took/take of it UNworthily and were/are sick or falling asleep. And how do we know they were/are born again believers...? Because they were/are "falling asleep" rather than dying. We are to remember His sacrifice and discern His body for our SINS, with...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Just put aside the wider aspect of the topic for the minute and read those scrips about the Lord's supper for yourself, sister. They are simply not talking about what Behold is saying they are. He's trying to make them fit his doctrine rather than just taking them for what they are simply...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

I don't know you had time to both read and take in the scrips I posted.....that was fast. Yes to what you brought, but we have to understand in light of the whole counsel of God. Those are not the only scriptures in the entire bible or New Testament on the matter.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

I encourage you and Ritajanice to just read the scripture as written and let it speak to you, rather than letting you trying to insert your doctrine into it, which it isn't saying. 1 Cor 11:20-34 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

They were sick because they were consuming the bread and wine unworthily, not discerning the Lord's body....treating the Lord's supper as common breakfast or lunch instead of holy - which requires some preparation before approaching.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Amen. The Spirit and the word agree. We need both the word and the Spirit, hand in hand. We can't understand the word without the Spirit and we need the word to test the spirits.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Amen...and this agrees with where it says the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Amen, for sure it was showing what our attitude is to be in ministering/serving each other. It illustrates both the servant humility with which we are to minister one to another as well as that, apparently there is going to be some washing of some kind still required even after having had the...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Amen....predestination is another concept that needs to be taken into account with all the other scriptures. Because the bible also says we are "elect according to the foreknowledge of God", which agrees with what you are saying here. If we take a fatalist stance we would never pray for or...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

And after we confess a sin, He is faithful and just to....what?....FORGIVE US and cleanse us.

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Yes I agree absolutely, it's symbolic. And it's the blood that washes us clean whether the whole bath or washing our "feet" afterwards. But you still haven't addressed why Jesus said we still need to wash our feet after having the bath and are every whit clean otherwise. (You know, it's...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Well then won't you please expound what you believe Jesus to have been talking about with the washing of feet. You did not address the point of my post. What did Jesus mean by saying even though we have had the bath and are every whit clean.....we still need to periodically have our feet...

    What is : imputed Righteousness

Yes, true that we have been made the righteousness of Christ......but also remember the little parable about the woman adding the leaven (good leaven of the gospel) into three measures of meal and then having to work it through the whole dough? Three measures of meal....spirit, soul and body...

Denying the Cross: How to do it

Except brother that this doesn't hold water I'm afraid. Don't forget that Jesus also said, "ye have had the bath and are every whit clean". And that He was setting an example to be carried into the future, that we should likewise wash one another's feet in humility.
