Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

Maybe you are right CenturyLady. I dont know. Tongues in my opinion doesn't make a person a Christian, it is the love that people will know people are disciples of Christ. So I don't care all that much on the topic, though have talked about it, thank you for your time to talk to me about it.

The Hell Doctrine - No doctrinal unity

Thank you for your comments. Wasn't Hades, and Sheol, just saying "Realm of the dead"?

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

Yes, I believe all the people who turned from non-faith to faith; and were part of the Chosen Bride back in that day, within the 40 years before Jesus was proclaimed to return, and promised also to the 7 Churches of Asia, which Jesus depicts some are okay, and some are not so okay, and they...

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

Another great question to go along with this is "What about all the healings Jesus had told his disciples to go end up and do in his time", but today we can not do such things, and that is why I do see signs as already having been done though many may disagree. Thank you for anyone who came by...

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

To me it all revolves around; subjecting oneself to be moved by the spirit and to encourage other people who may have very little faith, and need the word of God to help them build up on their faith as they go along their way. In the end it is about loving God and loving others, @David in NJ...

The Hell Doctrine - No doctrinal unity

Hello to Original Poster, From my understanding when it comes to hell, the Jewish Old Testament describes it as a place that is dark, and gloomy, there is always a want, slippery hard to find a good placement, and bars,(think about Jonah in the Well when he prayed in 'sheol') was the Second...

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

Acts Chapter 2, recorded by Luke, a Gentile.

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

The narrative states that they all started talking together and hearing each other; sorta of like the Tower of Babel, but it was restored by the Spirit - to have the spirit lead people to encourage and edify others as they go along in this life. However, people need to get out there bible and...

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

That seems a little absurd to say... There are many different ways people see the scriptures; no one can help that. There is nothing wrong with what was stated either; looking at it in a certain way. I have yet to see someone just start speaking a language to another group of people in my own...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

If you say so. There is no problem with anything that has been said. People just stick to what they believe in their heart about certain subjects; sometimes it can be so bad; that even proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ and that God raised him back from the dead is not enough for people...

Tongues ( 'sign' gifts ) did/did not cease?

Hello to the Original Poster, From my perspective, I do not believe anyone speaks tongues unless they learn a language that is second nature to them. That is why interpreters much exist, for a reason for communication with another foreign strangers who may or may not be native to your own...

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

I cant really believe God will punish people for making a decision for themselves; they can realize later perhaps that should not have made that choice and change as they go about life, because life is a learning experience through trial and error, and alot of those have been made since the dawn...

The right to abort. The right to ask for the aborted to be adopted instead. These are the same thing!

While, my thoughts go along the lines of simply having the kid and putting it up from adoption, (I dont tend to debate; these are just my thoughts). Due to the Governing Authorites who tend to allow the things to go on here in America, or any other country, have the ability to allow those who...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

Another thought is that, people tend to misread and represent the bible if they have little studied and looked more into their studies. Like Hell for example, is done away with according to the Bible. Like Satan being done away with, according to Revelation, from John the beloved, though some...

    Preterism misrepresents Scripture

From my own thoughts, if I say "There is a thousand keys on this key chain, but there is only 80", maybe a thousand years can be seen as the same thing; and to take in context that the Revelation was written to a group of people in Asia minor is very specific, especially with things that would...

Where did we get The Bible? - A IN-DEPTH STUDY

Its true traditions and not seeking after truth can lead to division; the the ultimate divisin breaker is can one love through differences and also talk out their reasonings and still love God and one another while you go along with fellowship.

    Athens or Jerusalem or Neither?

Challenging everything and testing all things by the spirit is something that should be done by every christian. To challenge traditions and to seek for truth, to the best of ones abilities by seeking out God with the use of the bible. Its not about intellectualism; its about faith and most...
