yes. On a ship which is so far off the water. When I was on the ice breaker in the great lakes. The distance was 12 miles.. after 12 miles. the curvature of the earth caused the horizon to dip so you could not see

That verse literally means flat ground. Not flat earth that was explained to you. You do not put your tent on a hilly or unevern surface.. You lay your tent on flat ground..
