    How to recognize a Legalist

I see your own legalism. You would have Jesus remain on the cross and your self being free because of it. No one is saved IN their sins...but away from them. But Jesus died once....and that for the whole world...not just they who say they "believe." But all who DO the will of the Father are...

    Thanking God

There is an assumption with all atheists that this life means everything....that there is no other purpose to life than eating and breathing in this creation. So then any other explanation is not understood by these because the viewpoint is limited to a temporal life. But a believer knows that...

Bible verses most Christians refuse to believe

And that is what freedom from sin means. Unless a person wants to sin of course. But we can't both abide IN Christ and sin. We are not abandoned by Jesus when we sin. He yet remains in us...since He will not leave us or forsake us. We are learning to place ourselves in His hands and fully...

    Be not overly righteous ???

The righteous are scarcely saved. It is a minimum requirement of the Lord to act with righteousness. You can't be MORE saved by a personal righteousness. There is no more rewards for trying harder to be MORE righteous of ourselves. But make no mistake ...they who claim to be saved but are not...

    Be not overly righteous ???

God sees righteousness in people. But once we have been deemed righteous by the Lord...there is not MORE we can do about it. We can only just BE righteous. There is no extra righteousness we can attain of ourselves. So then focusing too much on being MORE righteous or more wise can be as harmful...

Bible verses most Christians refuse to believe

Just to add...that "remission" is translated from the Greek "aphesis" which actually means "freedom". So this concerns freedom from sins....not just forgiveness of sins. In Christ there is a refuge from sin....in holiness.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ADAM AND EVE IN THE GARDEN

This thread is speaking of the pernicious "serpent-seed" heresy. In actual fact the seeds are the Spirit and the flesh. They fight against each other...in all the children of God. So we can opt for one or the other. God said that Cain could have gotten it right...had he persisted and humbled...

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

Actually you are confusing tenses here. It doesn't say...will you be...but are you in. So then the promise of being in Christ is only in the future for they who have not yet done so. But IN Jesus (right now) is redemption and sanctification. Are you saying that you haven't yet been redeemed?

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

Grace is a gift...not earned. Sanctification is indeed by grace as a gift. Jesus IS our sanctification...not BECOMES our sanctification. Jesus IS our wisdom and knowledge. But once we have received the gift...we have to learn to STAY in that. To not be enticed away through desires or...

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

"Most church members live so far below the standard; you’d have to backslide to be in fellowship. We are so subnormal that if we were to become normal, people would think we were abnormal." Vance Havner

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

Really? How many Israelites believed the Red sea parted? All of them! Yet they mostly all perished in the wilderness because of unbelief. That is the way with mankind. You can lead people to the truth...but you can't make them believe. And so it is with the spiritual walk.

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

Do people here believe in the resurrection power of Christ or not? That is the issue here. Can we abide in Christ and walk as He walked or not? Are we always slaves to sin or not?

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

How would you know? Do you have all understanding? Or do you just claim to know all things? And why side with unbelief and be so certain in that?

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

For perspective I have said that we go in and out of holiness...in and out of abiding in Christ. Paul had not yet attained a full time maturity in the perfected walk. But he also says...among they who are perfect...etc. So as with all things biblical to see only one side of a truth shows a...

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

That is a highly unqualified statement based on unbelief. We are to be perfect as the Father is perfect. To do so we must enter into Christ. But this is by faith....not by the kind of incredulity you are exhibiting. It is no wonder you have not tasted of His holiness yet. 1 Thess. 5:23 And the...

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

The issue is this...how do you know if someone is fully sanctified or not? Judging by what or how? Does a sanctified person make a show of it? Of course not! Do people honour what is best in others? Of course not. Neither do they know all about others. People don't discern spiritual things...

Romans 7 and 8 without confusing verses

Do you believe that perfection is in Christ? If so then ask God to cause you to enter INTO Him. In Him is NO sin. They who abide in Him do not sin. We have not because we ask not. Or we ask amiss.

Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

Actually it is the goat that was sacrificed...the one that is "to the Lord"....THAT one typifies Christ. The scapegoat represents Israel that doesn't sacrifice itself for God but lives for itself. These are cast away into an eternal wandering in outer darkness. We see the same type of...
