Welcome to the forum...I find it most comforting to just take care of the beam in my own eye instead of the splinter in others....a humbling experience my Father so graciously allowed me to experience to expose what was in my heart and to purge it. Amazing grace....how sweet it is!

lol....I suppose to some it may seem dishonest.....but it is the most profound book ever to teach others about love, humility, wisdom, and charity. It doesn't seek to destroy us but rather to save us and to show us how to have a life full of joy, peace and hope.

You pick and choose what parts of the Bible you believe and what you don't? I am just curious because you seem to have a double standard concerning events in the Bible. Why mention Job implying you believe it happened? Why this event and not the other?

I think that Jesus was speaking to a certain man to expose where his true "Love" was.....this man was very rich....he thought he could "buy" his place next to Jesus....but Jesus knowing his heart said if you truly love and want to be my disciple then go sell all that you have and follow...

Exactly....and our love for God is something that develops as we come to know Him through a personal relationship.

I believe that a person can overcome a sin that they are bound in eventually but it takes growth spiritually and in the Word.....but there are sins that once you are saved should cease immediately such as stealing, lying, hating, and fighting.....my point is a person who has spent their life...

I think it strange that people claim we cannot be forgiven many times for the same sin from God when Jesus told the disciples to forgive a man 70 times 7 over the same offense. It would be like He is setting a double standard....[YOU MUST FORGIVE OVER AND OVER BUT I WILL NOT].....(IMHO)
