The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

An excellent reply! And I agree fully. Why don't people take the bible seriously? And especially they who purport to follow the bible? I find these follow the teachings the least. There is so little honesty among they who have been indoctrinated to really take hold of easy answers...while...

How do you know your saved??

This is what I say about a lack of honesty in today's churches. People are indoctrinated with answers...but they don't know the questions. Have you ever seen the billboards that say...Jesus is the answer? Well people have been convinced all they need is answers...not understanding spiritual...

    Just and the Justifier...

As in....I believe I am...so therefore by my belief..I am. A kind of weird philosophy that seeks for a self-justification. If you say it enough ...you actually start to believe it.

How do you know your saved??

God never let me get away with pride. Those He loves He treats hard. So then how can so many get away with all the pride? They are the ones who claim to be saved the loudest. Could these be exactly wrong?

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

That's only one side of the equation. The bible also says whoever believes that Jesus has come in the flesh is born of God. And that can be said of anyone who goes to church...including the mafia. I find that people are looking to be saved by reading certain bible verses. And thus deceiving...
  6. Episkopos

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

That is way out there. eternal life is superimposed on the life of the flesh. The dying is in a life that is alien to God. And walking in the Spirit is where God's operating system kicks in as the flesh system is disabled on the cross. But we go in and out of the Spirit. You have some weird...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

You have the finish line in the wrong place. But your explanation is really out there...a la Gnosticism. When the bible says...know no man according to the flesh...that isn't because the person is only Spirit. So you have gone down a rabbit trail and a doozie there bro!

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Well...it would seem that many people are reading only the parts of the bible they prefer. Could it be that by reading the whole bible that doctrine is improved?

How do you know your saved??

You are the one claiming to be saved and then ignoring the words of Jesus. You are selecting the verses you like and making a religion out of that. So what do you do with the words of Jesus? i don't claim to be saved until the end. So are you saved by ignoring Jesus?

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

You are drawing the wrong conclusion. The thief died that day. His race was finished. And the human race of Jesus was finished...that's why He said...It is finished. But you are taking this dogmatically thinking of a weird transactional salvation whereby one positive word eradicates all future...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Jesus ran His course until "it was finished" and now we must run our course till "it is finished" It is disingenuous to claim Jesus' race as our own...until we have run the course. Jesus said that as He was dying. And we can do likewise if we have remained faithful till the end. Rev. 3:21 To...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

And also on God's approval or rejection. Many will be rejected that believe they are saved. There will be weeping and anger.
  13. Episkopos

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

I just find that the opposite of this is being presented. Everyone is esteeming himself higher than everyone. I have heard some say.."no one is higher than me because I am seated in heaven with Christ"! Wow...talk about getting things exactly wrong. Yet I'm sure many here would agree with that...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

Why can't they who claim to be born again retain some humility? By not doing so it brings shame on the Lord. Why claim something for yourself? Claim the goodness of God....but not your own place in that goodness. Look instead for the good of others. Identify with the weakness in others...while...

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

And that is why we leave the judgment to God. As Paul said...I don't judge myself. So it is human pride that needs to say "I am saved" no matter what I do. I'm special. salvation is conditional...and we are still running in the race. How many are sure they are going to win a race or...
  16. Episkopos

Do we even have the correct definition of "saved?"

To think that way is a doctrinal position. No one knows what the Lord will judge a person to be. That's the mystery of God's ways. No one knows but God. Judge nothing before the time. Run the race to win...and stay faithful till the end. And if you maintain some humility...that's a good thing...

    Examine Yourselves

I think there is a difference between not agreeing and having hostility. I have a number of people here on ignore. I would certainly not break bread with these as I see them as hostile to the truth. They wouldn't want to meet anyway. But that doesn't mean that I agree with everyone else. As long...

The Ekklesia; called out ones; the Church

So I wrote this on another thread...but in the name of efficiency I repeat it here in it's original form. The way I see this is that the organic church will have some very heated discussions...as we do in ours from time to time! :) When it comes to breaking the bread and the communion...

    Examine Yourselves

The way I see this is that the organic church will have some very heated discussions...as we do in ours from time to time! :) When it comes to breaking the bread and the communion part....unless we all are in agreement or having love for one another...we shouldn't partake given those times...
