The Great And Powerful Oz Has Spoken!!! Sorry, I'm not in the mood for a broomstick hunt. Again, your word is The Word. Sorry you can't see that. This is a discussion and debate website. If you can't stand the heat...

Strictly within Christianity: Believing salvation can be earned by meritorious works of law Believing one can sin all they like and yet retain favor with God Folks just don't go around admitting these things, do they?

Perhaps I should have said "no Christian" instead of "no one." Christians, I believe, generally except the concept of substitutionary atonement.

Perhaps not. Maybe I misunderstood you (I sometimes do that, especially when I'm following more than one thread). Sorry. :)

    Go, And Sin No More?

How is legalism a problem? Practically no one believes they can earn their way to Heaven. Have you ever known someone who actually believes this?

    I can't argue with that.

With you being the arbiter of what Scripture has settled, of course. Congratulations on your power.

    Go, And Sin No More?

I'd like to start by making an appeal to at least try to stay on topic.

    Go, And Sin No More?

Go, And Sin No More When we study the Bible with others, or talk about Bible study, the topic at hand usually ends up being buttressed by verses that are carefully scrutinized (every word), and defended with much vigor and confidence. “Go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11) Do we believe these...

So you have the power to look upon the heart, do you, whereas the rest of us can only look upon the outward appearance?

I think it's important to note that sin is no longer the transgression of the law contained in ordinances that were only meant to be types or shadows of the Christ. The law of commandments written upon stone is what points out sin.

Make no mistake, @CharismaticLady is deeply concerned about the salvation of the people she addresses, however forceful and cutting her expression may appear to be.
