I did not know it at the time, but God was definitely in that interruption of my formal education. If I had stayed in Mexico as I had planned and received a higher degree there the result may have been a bad one. Instead I went back to California and married a pretty little girl I met when...

I certainly hope not. That might be worse than sitting back and doing nothing presuming that all of the rewards are already ours. If we really love God, will we not want to do whatever He wants us to do above all other things? Consider the pain and suffering that Jesus, the man of flesh...

Salt can be good thing for flavoring or for healing or for preserving but can a person get or eat too much of a good thing? Remember the old saying, "we are what we eat!"? Or better remember the words of Jesus here: "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith...

Indeed, alone we cannot perform properly. It is ultimately our trusting in the Lord due to our love for Him that makes the difference. We do what we can and trust God to take any necessary slack. What He apparently does not? What if we need to lay down our physical life as Jesus did? What if we...

Thank you dear sister. Hopefully all is going well with you and yours!

Thanks! Perhaps it is more difficult in finances these days. The dollar was really worth more in those days. I never took out a loan for education and I did not have any scholarships. I did live at home paying no room and board but I paid all of my school expenses up front from my own work. I...

I leaving for the test now. In any case they said no results for a day or two. Since this in Friday that means probably nothing known before Monday. I will keep you advised... Please continue to pray!

Many years ago I worked as a chauffeur driving for a living. The company owned the cars. We were not paid by the hour, but on commission. Customers paid either a flat fee for single one way trips such as from home to airport or they hired the car with driver at an hourly rate. Our commission was...

I believe that the ones who will not die again are only those who have overcome as Jesus overcame. Before Jesus was crucified it was not possible for anyone to do that. Jesus made it a possibility by opening the closed way to the Tree of Life, but only overcomers may partake of that Tree. To...

If one is desperate, do suppose anyone here will do the driving at less than minimum wage?

Praying here as well!

Yes, for each us, 'according to our faith', but if our faith is misplaced? If our faith is in the wrong thing?

Those born again, I believe, have a new beginning, but what do any of them have going for them better than what Adam and Eve had in the garden before they disobeyed? Cannot a person who had received a new beginning still choose to look or go back and fail... like Lot's wife? Was she not saved...

Praying for you in particular!

I do not pretend to understand all of the things happening to the people who dwelt on planet Earth after the initial disobedience. I do believe that they were all born dead in the eyes of God. [You and me too!] God works with and in and blesses people who work with and yield themselves to Him...

I see Eve and her spouse, once they had disobeyed God, as dead in His eyes. Prior to their disobedience they both apparently knew God although from what we are able to read it seems that Adam knew Him somehow more closely than Eve since he was not deceived. Is being dead in the eyes of God...

I don't usually engage much in this area for different reasons, but I read your statement and the one sentence highlighted in blue caught my eye. Could you make a connection between that the word I highlighted in the following verse? "And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the...

In the Bible AND on the Lord's side all of the time.

Is there is perhaps a distinction to be made? Is a person deceived because he has never been alive to God? That is he has never moved from the death to which Adam and Eve brought us in spite of the Life that Jesus offered. For whatever reason, the Life offered was never received. Or is a...

Below is a single post of mine from December of 2020 based a previous discussion concerning questions by @Grailhunter about repentance : ON THE FENCE ABOUT REPENTANCE? ↑ This is an opinion…discussion…comment thread…about repentance concepts and how it all fits into salvation and our Christian...
